"Rick was quick to respond. gave a great estimate put in the fence in two days. Always on time and cleaned up after the work was done. Highly recommend it."
This is the Island Home side entrance that we built. There was no side entrance or door there in the beginning. The house was a drab gray and the wood was rotten. We replaced the entire back wall of the house, the downstairs bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room, and created a sitting room, where this entrance is. Built a deck on as well, that was later painted blue.
This is one photo of the completed remodel. This is flooring, painting, tiling, and commode and sink install.
This is the completed project with the owners decor. This view is from the entrance door to the enlarged shower.
This is the completed project for the bathroom remodel.
This is the kitchen completed on the sink side, where the refrigerator and new sink, counter tops, cabinets and appliances are located, along with the tiled wall, backsplash and the installation of the bamboo flooring.

"Excellent job! Professionally done and very efficient. Job involved removal of several very large shrubs and overgrown ivy. Very fair price for first-rate work. Excellent communication in scheduling the work, and showed up as promised. Highly recommended!"

"We expanded a ground floor family room, which required complete exterior and interior construction, with stacked stone to match existing exterior. Existing plumbing, electrical, and duct work had to be moved around. The room has a 5x10 closet with pull-down attic door and insulted attic above. A bay build-out added space to our dining room, and we added a walk-in pantry to the kitchen. Materials were included in the total price but not broken out. The contractor underestimated either the amount of stone needed or the cost of the (available) stone required to match the existing exterior. He covered about $400 of the additional materials cost; we covered about $1000 at his request. Lesson learned: In the contract, stipulate the dollar amount designated for special materials. Other than that and some slow downs due to occasional absent workers, the job went as planned and we're happy with the result. We appreciated the daily clean-up as it was a lengthy project and just living with the upheaval was at times a challenge. Mark had a cleaning crew come one weekend to help keep things in order."

"I called Jess after learning from two other handyman and/or roofing repair services (both highly-rated by Angie's List) that it would be at least $150-$250 and two weeks for them to get to me. Jess was on another job, but was at a stopping point. He went to his shop, picked up a ladder and went by my house to see what it would take to fix the ridge vent on my roof. When my son and I got home, he wanted to see the hole in the roof so I took him out back and to our surprise, Jess had already been there and repaired the problem and another small problem he noted while he was up there. Same-day service and at a fraction of what two of the larger services would have charged just for the service call. I have already lined up more work for him for myself and a friend! Highest possible ratings and many thanks!"

"They were able to repair the door where it had chipped by sanding the door and filling it. Then it was primed and painted with two coats of paint. The doors look great! Oh, before doing any work they prepared the surrounding areas to protect them. They were very courteous and professional. We will definitely use them again. Great job done with great care."

"I would, and have, highly recommended Phil for remodeling.  My wife had general ideas of what she was looking for, and Phil created unbelievable results.  He built a barn door out of old barn wood.  It looked and worked amazing.  The bathroom had only one sink, we wanted two.  He was able to match the cabinetry perfectly and with a new granite top the end product was beyond what we had expected.  <br /> My wife was totally comfortable with Phil's team in the house with her.  We gave them a key to the house while we were gone on vacation.  I have the utmost respect and trust in Phil and his partners."

"Junior did an outstanding job. He’s a talented craftsman. He remodeled my bath with a new tub and surround. Hung a new interior door with frame. And installed multiple plumbing fixtures and fittings, included a much needed interior water-line cut off valve. I will definitely use Stubb’s Remodeling & Construction again."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Knoxville, TN

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
