"We hired Millennium Specialties to paint the exterior of our house and shed. They repaired and replaced rotted wood, caulked places that had never been caulked before (hence the wood rot), cleaned, primed and painted our house, and it looks beautiful! Their work crew was a pleasure to work with, friendly, polite and responsive to our concerns. They are highly skilled and their work shows it. Our job took a little longer than expected due to unforeseen issues - we needed to replace a gutter. They happily came back after the replacement to paint the gutter. Dave's bid was detailed and the price was competitive with other highly rated companies. Our house ended up requiring more paint than expected and Dave absorbed that cost. Dave Jackson and John Shields who managed our project, were easy to contact, always returned our calls promptly, and resolved concerns in a timely manner. Our house is 102 years old and has lots of funky corners and uneven areas, and Avenues was great at making it work. The cupboards and counters in the kitchen had to be custom-built around an old chimney, and they did an excellent job. There is a step-down from the kitchen to the back hallway, and the guy from Avenues did a great job of smoothing over this transition so that it is even better than before. The crown molding on the cabinets helps conceal the fact that our floors and ceiling are a little uneven. 
When we met with Steve, he said that the demo would be July 9, the cabinets July 10, the floors July 12, and the counters July 24. These installations happened EXACTLY on the days he promised. This meant that we were able to finish our entire remodel in less than a month. 
I also appreciated that I never felt Steve was trying to "upsell" us on anything. He understood our budget and the type of kitchen remodel we were doing (modest budget in a funky old house). He was able to make good recommendations, for example telling us about which quartz counters would be most economical. 
It's important to know that Avenues was not acting as a general contractor for our remodel. We coordinated all of the other pieces beyond the cabinets, floors, and counters. Angie's List was a great help in finding someone to move the gas stove, finding a plumber, and finding an electrician. If you are willing to run your own remodel, though, I highly recommend the quality and price of Avenues for cabinets, counters, and/or flooring.

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"We had the company build a custom entertainment center, we liked it so much we had them remodel our kitchen to match.We had our kitchen Done not to long ago but we loved the look of the work so much we had to do it in our kitchen. We got three bids and there price was in the middle. They told us the job would take three weeks and it took a little over two! They explained the schedule with us at the contract signing and stuck to it. There was some one at our house every day,and they worked at least 8 hours a day. They were very clean. They built custom cabinets, installed a granite counter with undermount sink, and put a stone floor in. Our kitchen looks very custom! We love it and would recommend them to anyone!

"One of the best parts about working with Mr. Tapia is his responsiveness. He always texted or called me back. I never had to wait long to get answers to my questions, or reassurance that things were going well. (Remodeling can be a bit stressful, Marco made this much less stressful). He also is very honest about how busy he is and when he can realistically get to the job. When I had to get flooring done by a certain date, he ended up doing it himself to make sure it got done on time. (It has been a crazy summer for remodeling in portland this year with a scarcity of workers). The workers that Mr. Tapia hired to work on my house projects were amazing professionals! Having remodeled a few houses before, I have a pretty good idea of what quality workmanship looks like, and Marco's crew does excellent work! "I had a great experience working with Mike, Ken, Keren and the Palm Construction crew on the remodel of my 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in San Francisco. They did major work on my bathroom (completely gutted it) and kitchen (beautiful new cabinets and countertop/backsplash) with updated plumbing and electricity. They also installed recessed light in all the rooms and updated the floors throughout. My apartment feels so much more spacious and light, and I love being home. Every person I interacted with was professional and kind. Mike was extremely patient with me and my countless questions along with mini anxiety attacks as this was my first remodel. Ken was also very communicative and between him and Mike, I felt like I was in the care of friends. The designer they work with, Keren, is also amazing, kind and has fantastic taste. One of the most impressive parts (among many) is that they were able to complete all this work in six weeks, all up to SF code, and would have been faster had shelter in place not started.
