Their standards for quality workmanship are very high and they do what they say they'll do, when they say they'll do it. They have a strong network of suppliers and whether Nathan or Mike is leading your project, they make you feel like your project is their top priority. They have a lot of experience and offer great ideas for layouts and solutions when a problem needs to be solved. And they are great with communication. They keep you informed as to what's happening and they respond quickly if you have a question or want to talk about the work in progress. Our experience has been excellent and in both cases we have been very happy with the work. We will call them again and give them the highest of recommendations. You will not be disappointed if you work with Pristine."

"We interviewed many contractors for this job. In the end, it boiled down to the good rapport with Nathan. On the plus side, his work is beautiful and his workers always showed up as promised. He never quibbled about some concerns we had throughout. But, we were up sold some work, (which we likely needed anyway) but were under the gun to make a decision and had to haggle under those conditions. Also, he sometimes requires multiple messages to get a response. Overall, very, very pleased with results and recommend to anyone."

"Our initial meeting with Suj was great. Initially, we had in mind a much larger job. He had quoted us $3000 for the closet demolition / wall rebuild (non-load bearing), packaged with several other items. Together with the fee for drawings ($4000) and permits, this was a bit higher than we anticipated. However, we decided to go with Suj due to his responsiveness and professionalism. Out of our other quotes, Suj’s pricing was middle of the pack - not the cheapest or most expensive. When the drawings were complete and evaluated, he gave us an updated cost of $6000 over text message. The scope of work had changed, and this was no longer part of a bigger project - understandable. The issue was when he gave us the official estimate a week later and up’d the price once again to $9000. When asked what happened, his exact words were “well, I need to get paid too”. He had weeks to consider before quoting the $6000 and nothing had changed since then. The extra $3000 may be insignificant compared to most renovation costs, but for us in our first home, this was back breaking. We continued with Suj since we were already locked in and well past the 3 day cancellation period. Their work for the most part was exceptional. The new wall blended perfectly into our existing structure, and the ceiling patch was also well done. The problem here was the floor. They had dug up a 1” deep pit in the floor, likely to remove the wall studs. However, they did not patch the floor or even let us know this was going to be an issue. We were never told about the pit until I decided to check in on their progress one day towards the end of the wall build. This required us to pay a handyman to come in next day on a weekend to patch the concrete since we had cabinets being installed the following Tuesday. Suj was aware of this and did not believe it pertinent information. Overall, Suj and SoCal Builders do quality work, but the issues in pricing consistency lost us before the work even started. Not even telling us that we’d be left with a 1” deep pit in our floor after was another huge issue which should’ve been brought up much earlier. This was our first experience with a contractor and I’m not sure if this is typical or not. However, it’s enough to make me doubt I’d contact them for any future work."

We hired Platinum Home Builders to complete a difficult project that included moving and relocating a 100-year-old Douglas home, pouring a new foundation, and installing a new floor plan and a completely developed basement. "I honestly don’t know where to begin. Working with Mike and HIC Builders to remodel my kitchen and bathroom was an overall amazing experience with so many positives. It was my first time remodeling my house. There were so many aspects of concern and stress. From the very first meeting with Mike, he completely put me an ease, and talked to me in detail on what they could do and the approximate price point. Throughout the initial phase, I contacted and met with over 6 different companies, and of course, the estimates that I received were all over the map. HIC Builders estimate was very manageable and, best of all, precise. There weren’t any surprises at the end of the remodeling job. What Mike said on day 1 was exactly what it turned out to be. After my meeting with all the other companies, I was debating between Mike and one other company. At this point, I also decided to downsize my remodeling to save some extra money. The other company was immediately hesitant to take on the job now that their profits had shrunk, whereas Mike was the complete opposite. He went into revision mode and was quick to come up with an alternate plan that we could do now that my budget had changed. That really impressed me. His ability to maneuver and work with different financial circumstances while maintaining a high quality of work. It also showed me that he cared about my project, even after the scope of the work had become smaller. I now know he has many projects going on at any given time, but you wouldn’t have guessed it by the attention and excellent communication he provides. I never felt like I couldn’t reach out to him for questions (and I had many) or clarifications in each phase. For me, choosing the right contractor came down to trust. I was remodeling from out of town, so I couldn’t check in on the process on a constant basis. Mike kept me informed every step of the way and eased my anxiety if anything popped up. If an issue or potential issue came about, he would bring it up to let me know this or that happened, but then he would tell me that it was no problem to deal with, and provide a solution as how he planned to work around it. The entire process was always transparent and clear. I could go on and on about what sets HIC Builders apart, but I hope this gives you a snapshot on why they are the right contractors for the job. I have zero complaints and they went beyond my expectations. Best of all, the end result looks like a million bucks."
