"The Cortez Brothers did an exceptional job. They viewed the property right away. Provided an estimate within adequate time. Went over my preferences. Rebuilt a fence and addition. Were very polite. Kept me in the loop with emails and phone calls. Their work turned out absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend them. I will be hiring them for painting various patio areas. With the many contractors I've worked with in the past I've felt very lucky to have found them."

"The Groundworks folks (formerly Bay Area Underpinning) applied their foundation-underpinning technology and expertise to extend to bedrock, level, square up the foundation for an extensive house remodel. I was most impressed by the young man onsite supervisor, Josh who answered all my work done, how and why questions. I wish this info was provided up front by the estimator. (My design-build remodel contractor referred this company). "

"It went incredibly well. Ignacio spent a lot of time with us working on the design and budget. While this company is not the cheapest on the market, in this case you truly get what you paid for. Ignacio's design took our breath away. The texture and color of the stamped concrete is beautiful. The extra patio space transformed an ugly weird patio to a masterpiece. The flagstone topped retaining walls easily provides seating for more people than we know. The color coordination between the concrete, the flagstone, and the stucco faced retaining walls is very pleasing to the eye. Unique' s crew is one of the best that I have had the pleasure to have working for me. I have never seen a harder working crew. The truly gave us a full 9 hours of back breaking work. The job superb Roberto was fantastic, easy to work with and to communicate. Ignacio made it a point to stop by every day. As with all construction there are issues, broken water lines, sprinkler lines, irrigation control cables. Roberto took immediate care of any and all such issues. He did a great job in keeping my stress levels low.

This may be the best hardscape company in the Bay Area. The attention to detail is exceptional. Ignacio has a designer's eye.

We love the result, and have spent more time outside in the last month than in the three previous years..

Hire this crew. You will not be disappointed.

Bryan Grady
408-309-5363
"

"Evolve Construction completed a full remodel of our kitchen and family room in January. We are very pleased with all aspects of this work. The team's attention to detail is fantastic, their work is very professional and they are pleasant to have in your home every day for weeks! The project was completed on budget and on time. It looks absolutely beautiful and our end result is better than I could have imagined. Because of their experience, they were able to advise on design decisions. Evolve took our empty space and designed a layout that opens the space up and allows for comfortable traffic flow. When I had my interior designer friend review Evolve's layout, she had no corrections because it was so well done! I highly recommend this reputable, honest, hard-working, and professional company. We will definitely be using them again and will be referring our friends to them!
"

"We have never seen such quality work. Our retaining wall holds up a steep hillside. Two prior retaining walls had failed. I know the retaining wall that LEBEC designed and constructed will never fail. LEBEC designed and built a special keyway retaining wall (like a keel on a boat). The wall was reinforced with 5/8 inch thick rebar that was completely tied together and that also had "J bars". They also used a special wicking type material on the back side of the wall to carry water away from the wall. They also used perforated pipe wrapped in filter fabric and 3/8 crushed drain rock behind the wall. I have never seen such excellent construction, even on very large construction projects. Armando was the supervisor, and he was working on the project the entire time. Armando has 30 years of experience and it showed. Everything was done in a smart and efficient way. Armando and his crew had to drive a very long way in Bay Area traffic to get to our home but they still arrived early and worked hard all day long. Armando is bilingual so it was very easy to communicate with him. Armando and his crew became our friends and we were happy to see them come each day. They would always leave our home and yard neat and clean when they left each day. We were so happy with their work that we have signed a second contract with LEBEC for a second retaining wall.
"

"We hired Mulhall Construction to convert a sun room into a master bathroom and office combination last summer. Additionally, they ran new electrical, relocated our fuse box, and installed the recessed lighting setup of my dreams in our living room.

They handled everything with grace and professionalism, as we definitely threw them some curveballs after construction started, including swapping out some materials and finishes.

David would constantly call me to give me updated information about the progress, and their entire team is wonderful. I recommend their work and plan to give them my business again in the future."

"The french drain was good. The retaining wall was good (2 ft high, unfinished). The earthquake retrofit was fine too.

The house leveling, not so good. They tried to lift the main level of our house without first cutting the main level from the base level, which I had explicitly required that they add to the contract. The side of our house cracked when they did this. Fortunately I was home at the time and stopped them. They didn't fix the cracks though, since that wasn't in the contract. So, they cut the house as they were supposed to, after the siding was already damaged. They lifted the top part about 2 to 3 inches, creating a cut that was 2 to 3 inches wide around the house. But, filling in the new holes wasn't in the contract either. So, we waited 6 months for them to fix it. They did a terrible job, and I had to hire others to redo that job.

The do NOTHING that isn't completely delineated in the contract. For example, the contract was to install 2 doors. They did install the 2 doors, but they did not install the door frames for those doors (which takes about 30 minutes to do) because the frames were not in the contract. with a $79,000 contract, you would think they could throw in an hour! As a home owner, I am NOT a structural engineer. They are supposed to be the professionals and should both know and tell you what needs to be done. instead, they use the excuse that and quot;you never said you wanted that doneand quot; to not do stuff or nickel you into more.

They also did our driveway. They didn't bother cutting back the ivy roots which had caused the original driveway to buckle. They poured the concrete right after a huge rain storm, so the driveway is cracked, allowing water in, growing the roots of the ivy which caused the original problem. Most likely because 'cutting back the ivy' and 'making sure the weather and conditions were appropriate for pouring concrete' were not explicitly in the contract.

The owner is a whiny guy. Seems really nice and honest before you hire him, but whines when you ask him to do more work. Also, one of their workers stole the registration sticker off of our motorcycle."

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in La Honda, CA

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
