"Lennie is awesome and knows his appliances! He ordered the necessary parts to complete the repair and he’s very flexible with his time. I didn’t have to take off work to get my machine fixed, and he is prompt. Best of all, there are NO hidden or additional fees after the agreement is made! You won’t go wrong with Houston Appliances."

"Although actual repair work was not done, Butler was prompt, reliable and knowledgeable, and also gave honest and upfront feedback about the service needed. Also provided solid alternatives and recommendations. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing appliance repair or diagnosis."

"Excellent. Service tech was on time and very professional. Sometimes it is the little things that make a difference like checking to make the client’s expectations are met, cleaning up the work area when the job is complete. Not only did I get a great install, he did the little things that made a difference. I highly recommend."

"I thought they were professional and nice, but they tried to repair my same appliance three times and it still didn't work. They were telling me one thing, but were telling my home warranty company something different. When I requested all three of us get on the phone to clarify the misunderstanding, Repair Tech Plus declined. As a result, I have to schedule another company to come out and start all over again with the assessment. This should have already been closed out so I could order a new appliance."

"I recently had a gas wall oven and a dishwasher installed. The installation team did a superb job with both appliances. They were courteous, provided excellent customer service, and charged reasonable prices."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in La Plata, MD

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
