"Not every custom builder can custom build – Winthrop Place Inc is a true exception It was a real pleasure to work with Michael and his crew. I already had a fully developed floor plan of what I wanted to build. We went over that in great detail made necessary adjustments and agreed on a start date. Having already build two houses from scratch I had no expectations of getting this basement completed below 4-5 months, so when Michael said he would do it in two - I honestly didn't believe him. I can only say how wrong I was, and how amazed I am at the level of his attention to details. My style is modern contemporary and I needed some custom work which I wasn't sure it could be done. Michael worked with me every step of the way and found resources who would be able to pull it off and the final product was exactly how I had envisioned it. Here's a list of things he pulled off - all which were important to me- 1. Create a floating table that straddles two basement support poles 12.5' apart - the material used was quartz and he had to support all 1100 lbs of it (42 sq ft) without any visible base or legs 2. Wall mount a concrete sink weighing over 300 lbs 3. Wall mounted large electric fireplace 4. Vinyl tile flooring - avoiding any type of visible pattern 5. Paint a 70' long wall to look like concrete 6. Vertically mount 4' x 2' pieces of giant ceramic tile on the riser of my bar Most custom builders wouldn't get past the first item on the list, Michael made it work within a very reasonable budget. They worked their tails off to get it done in time, on budget, and were respectful of my family and neighbors. I liked them so much I had them do a bathroom remodel. "We initially thought that there was a leak in the line for which a quote was provided. Once the line was uncovered to repair the leak it was discovered that the entire line (lead pipe which had been installed when the house was built in 1967) was corroded and would probably continue to spring leaks even after the first was repaired. The contractor recommended that the entire line be replaced although he was more than willing to repair only the leak for the initial estimate of $195. I agreed with his recommendation.
The repair was expected to take several days so the contractor ran a temporary supply line to the house so that we would not be without water.
We were totally satisfied with the work that was completed and that the employees were professional and courteous.

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.  
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.
