"It was good when we finally got it installed. What I disliked about it was the installation, they only had two people installing. When it did come in, it took quite a while for them to install because they only have two people and it doesn't look like they work past five. We bought the big deal. The ShelfGenie itself, all of that looks gorgeous. The guy who installed it was nice but I think they need to have more installers that has more flexible hours. "I did not set a specific deadline so that I would get an excellent job.

This was the second job that Steve had done with cement board siding.  (The first was some trim on a new bank branch.)  The critical skill on the project was the installers who were both experienced, careful carpenters.

The only delays were getting the prepainted cement board from James Hardie.  They were quite late on their estimated delivery times and the project had to be stopped several times. 

I do recommend a draining housewrap like the Green Guard since it is almost impossible to keep all water outside the siding.

I picked Steve because he was easy to work with an I was very pleased with the work.

"Called him and he arrived at our home the same day and provided an esimate.  The work was agreeded upon and a time scheduled for the installation.  Showed up exactly when he said he would and performed the installation expertly.  Would not hesitate to call him again.

"We bought a 1920s house that needed a new kitchen. Mike gave us a very detailed estimate and recommended a kitchen designer to help me design the project. We decided to add a doorway through an exterior brick wall to create a doorway into the adjoining sunroom instead of removing the wall between the kitchen and formal dining room. This maintained the original character of the house while still giving some "flow" into the former sunroom. The walls and floors of both rooms were taken down to the studs and the new foam insulation was sprayed inside the walls of the sunroom. A new exterior door was installed out to the back porch, The entire kitchen and sunroom were sheet rocked and new tile floors installed to both rooms. The kitchen was wired, plumbed for gas and water and beautiful kitchen cabinets and granite installed. One thing Mike Von Behren is particularly good at is replacing/restoring the molding, baseboards and door frames to match the original millwork in the house. The finished kitchen/family room is a beautiful addition to this older home and we have enjoyed it very much. Working with Mike was a pleasure-communication was great and he is very detailed and has a great team. I would definitely recommend Von Behren for any home building/remodeling projects where quality, attention to detail and excellent communication are important concerns.

"Les Glover does and did everything. He replaced the bathroom medicine cabinet and sink with cabinet. He installed a new steel front door with all wood trim. Les replaced and repaired the siding on the house and garage. He repaired he soffit around the house. Les also painted the entire house and garage once all wood and siding was replaced or repaired. Les took care of many small details on his own, not needing to be told what to do. If something was not to his liking, he worked on it until it was. Les is very conscientious and is extremely reliable, not to mention that he is a very pleasant person to deal with. Even neighbors commented on his work ethic and abilities. The house looks brand new is now for sale."

"After contacting the out-of-state warranty company to complain about my siding, I selected Dillman Brothers (DB) to initiate my claim, which consisted of taking pictures of the defective siding and associated paperwork.  After I initially provided some personal information, DB took control and coordinated the entire claim.  DB provided a time estimate (since they had done this warranty work before) and periodically provided updates, answering all of my concerns while my claim was being processed.
After approval of the claim, Karen Dillman coordinated with me to determine whether I wanted to alter in quality or color the current siding, explaining that I would bear any increased cost over what the warranty company would pay ($2,640).  I opted to stay with the original siding and after tentatively coordinating a February 2013 install date, DB ordered the siding and delivered to my home, placing it at an appropriate spot in my driveway so as not to block access.
DB tore down all the defective siding, which included removing gutter spouts, lighting, and other minor attachments.  After some bad weather delays, installation began on the first Saturday in March.  My only complaint was that the workman began at 8 a.m. with banging that startled my sleep, which I should have expected.  I cannot fault them, however, since the bad weather pushed installation to the weekend and a forecast for more bad weather at the start of the new week did not allow much time given that the home was without siding.
The installation took place that weekend and by Monday, the gutter spouts and lighting were replaced, excess material was hauled away, and the workmen cleaned up after themselves as best they could given the cold, muddy conditions.  However, they did not return some landscaping materials (bags of rocks, sand, and a wheel barrel) where they had originally been placed near the home, which they left in various locations in the back yard.
Although I would have liked to avoid the whole process, DB made it painless and for that, I can earnestly recommend them as a fine company that will extend the extra effort to address your concerns and "make it right."  I especially want to thank Karen Dillman for her professionalism during this entire  process.
