"George Krinninger & Sons deserves your business. They were phenomenal and I would use them again if I ever needed to have a door installed. When we were looking to have our front and back doors replaced, we went to Menards to look at doors. While we were there, a sales associate recommended we reach out to one of their preferred contractors, George Krinninger & Sons, to assist us with replacing the doors. We did and it was the best decision. We worked with Mike and he was incredible. He was very knowledgeable, responsive, and walked us through the whole process. He even went out of his way to go with us to the store to help us pick out the right doors. When it came time for the installation, he showed up right on time, was incredibly professional, and a pleasure to chat with. When the project was done, he left the work area spotless and walked us through any features the doors/locks had. The quality of his work and the experience we had with George Krinning & Sons really speaks for itself. We highly recommend you use them."

"Art has done a number of projects for me over the past several years. From installing an outdoor light fixture, re-attaching an indoor stair rail, securing loose hand shower bar, to recommending matching grout color for repairing grout that was crumbling in spots, Art's work has always been top notch. Growing up, my father was a perfectionist and always went the extra mile to repair things right. Art is the same way. He will do things right, and if it is something he doesn't feel confident about, he'll let you know that too, rather than trying to tackle something that he isn't sure he can do right. Highly recommend!"

"Door install went well, it opens and closes and looks nice. now i just have to clean up all the dust that was left behind. literally have to mop and dust my entire first floor and upstairs. installers didn't hang any plastic. I called to pay the remainder of my bill and they agreed not to charge me the 2% credit card fee as consolation. so ... i'll use someone else next time."

"Pawel was fantastic to work with. He responded to my request with extreme promptness and was easy to communicate with as far as explaining the project and setting up a time. His workmanship is top-notch. This was pre-painted/finished crown molding that was more of a plastic than your typical wood and it was cut and mounted perfectly - no visible seams. Any questions that impacted the install he asked prior to doing that part of the work. Communicates well throughout the process. The pricing was very reasonable as well. Would definitely hire again."

"Great! The roofing crew was punctual, professional and neat. If not for the new roof we wouldn't even know they were at our home leaving it clean and everything back in it's place."

"This is a difficult review to write. Some of the work done by Welter Home Services was good and the handyman they sent didn't waste any time going between jobs on my list. The main work that was done well was installation of 2 shower grab bars and fixing a kitchen cabinet garbage can door that eventually broke after over 20 years of constant use. Unfortunately, some of the work was totally unacceptable and they do not stand by their work, even when notified within 24 hours of the work being completed. If they can classify it as a "repair", it's buyer beware! If it breaks again or you see something unacceptable 1 min after they pull out of your driveway, they actually expect you to PAY THEM to fix their own poor work! The work that was not at all satisfactory was the installation of weather-stripping on 2 doors and fixing a broken screw on my desk's keyboard drawer. It took 3 attempts to get the drawer (hopefully) fixed, of which I had to pay for 2 of the attempts. My front door is admittedly not the best and they did make it close easier (not on my fix-it list). However, in the process, they left such a large gap between the door and the weather-stripping that I could see sunlight coming in between the door and the frame. The handyman actually tried to tell me that I was just seeing the weatherstipping, but I guarantee you that I can tell the difference between sunlight that leaves a shadow and some light-colored weatherstripping! I have since installed some foam weatherstipping to stop the massive air leaks before the weather turns and it becomes too cold for the foam to stick properly. I paid them almost $220, and then had to fix it myself! Adding insult to injury, when I called to complain about the large gap they left around my front door, the owner Kevin Welter told me twice that "he hoped I would be reasonable"! As a woman of a certain age, that sexist comment translates as "Just be a good girl and stay quiet!" Would he DARE make such a comment to one of his male customers? I will NEVER use them again - sexist or not - as I feel that anyone who does not have enough pride in their work to stand by it and fix something that is clearly unacceptable is just not trustworthy."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Lake Zurich, IL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
