"Scott is a great person to work with. He listened to all of our requirements for our new deck to replace the old deck, did the design exactly as specified and handled submitting the design and obtaining the permit from the city. Throughout the permit process Scott handled getting inspections completed for each stage including the final approval. Our deck is a two level deck connected by a staircase. It included new footings and also other cement work around an adjacent hot tub. We went with the composite decking and couldn't be happier with the quality of the materials used not just for the decking but for the structure itself and the railings. The quality of Scott's craftsmanship is superb. I have dealt with quite a few contractors over the years and the quality and professionalism Scott provided is among the very best."

"Jon and Roberto did a terrific job in solving the bathroom issue. They plugged a leak, replaced sections of the drywall, sub-wall and cedar siding. They mudded, textured and painted the drywall and reinstalled some custom tile trim. All the work and cleanup was meticulous. Jon was on-time, under-budget and answered all my questions. Once the weather gets drier and warmer, I'll have Jon come back to paint the siding."

The one challenge with Class Act Carpentry is that the firm is busy.  The brothers were committed to a project out of Seattle when I purchased the deal.  So it took a few weeks until they could come to do the work.

And, I can see why they are in demand.  They took care of quite a list of concerns during the contracted time including:  assessing the issues; purchasing the materials; installing a kick guard on my back door and repairing damage to the door frame; replacing some rotting and missing lumber on my front fence; assessing my car port for structural decay; and planing the exterior basement door so it no longer sticks to the top step; as well as explaining and consulting with me on the projects.  They took care of the issues with dispatch and friendly professionalism.

The prepay amount was $280 for four hours of carpentry work.  The final amount was $308.88 to cover the tax for the service as well as materials.  It was money well spent.

"Dennis (the owner of DJ's Hardwoods) came out and provided a free estimate himself and told me what to expect if we chose his company. He told me to think it over and if we decided to go through with it to give him a call. I appreciated his honesty and him letting me make the decision on my own time without being pushy. We scheduled a time that was convenient and he and his men were promptly on time. The work was completed in the time and cost that Dennis had estimated which were very reasonable considering the work. Dennis warned me that the newly replaced flooring might not exactly match the rest of the hardwoods until it had a chance to wear and blend in with the rest. I was pleasantly surprised as they did a really nice job of repairing the damaged areas and blending the refinishing with the existing hardwoods. You can barely tell the difference between the new and old hardwoods. They also helped buff a few water spots that were left from the planter's feet even though they were not in the same area as the mainly damaged spot. I would highly recommend DJ's Hardwoods to anyone with wood flooring."

Everything went well, except the painting portion. 

The drywall, removal and install and the mud portion was excellent quality and service

The window removal and install was excellent quality

The painting preps and quality standards of hiding the nails and caulking was not up to where it should have been. It took two trips to have the painter complete the project where it needed to be.

Otherwise would recommend this company they are punctual, professional and do quality work and ensure that the customer is satisfied with the job.

"Palm Construction used subcontractors at every stage (not unusual), but there was little to no oversight. Communication was a problem. I am doubtful that the product (Trex decking) was installed according to **manufacturers guidelines** and worry what that may mean to the longevity of the final product. Some parts of the install were handled brilliantly and with finesse. Other parts were done hurriedly, resulting in damage to the substructure. Palm has made efforts to repair or redo, as necessary, which I appreciate, but some of their promises fell by the wayside."
