"We had Babcock build/move a few walls, move our boiler, and move some electrical so our washing machine/dryer could be moved to another room. There was tile flooring done as well. The initial part of the job was fine. But when the subs were involved, things got out of control. The electrician decided to do some things in our boiler room without running it by us. Then a guy adding our dryer duct work decided to do something we explicitly didn't want done. That was fixed, but the more we looked, the more we saw the subs doing whatever they had to do the job quickly, not cleanly. Here we two years later and I am still finding sub-par work - things that make it look *I* did the job on the fly, not a "professional". Examples - the plumber cut out some copper tubing that was part of a heating zone. Rather than copper it back together, he decided to use PEX on a line whose water gets to 200F, above the rating of PEX. He insulated it, however, so one couldn't readily see what he did. Today, admittedly 2 years later, I go into the roof space and find the electrician installed some junction boxes and decided to leave them on the floor. Very quality job work - definitely show up on the next home inspection. Overall Babcock and brothers seemed fine. They choice and oversight of the subs was poor. If you go with them make sure to spec everything out that the subs will do, otherwise they will do it wrong. Fortunately we had them do a relatively small job before a possible kitchen remodel. Glad we didn't have these subs handle a bigger job that needs quality"

"Just fine. After getting a new roof installed, it turned out that the swamp cooler was not working. James Duncan was able to get it working long enough to finish the summer. Subsequently, I had them install a new Master Cool, and after that a new main furnace. Excellent work by both James Duncan, and Scott Schneider."

"Alvin was careful to explain prior to starting work that if he required extra supplies, etc it would be on top of the Angie's price. Also, that there was the possibility that it would not be a simple replacement. I expected that. The replacement turned out to be more complicated than I'd anticipated.
The plumbing pipes for hose bibbs are installed between the vertical studs. There is supposed to be a horizontal cross brace that secures the "inside" part of the bibb  with 2 screws into the wood. Turns out, when the house was built in 1997, no cross bracing was added inside the wall, so the unsupported pipe had been shifting each time we turned the faucet on or off for the past 17 years. So, when he went to remove the outside portion, instead of "unthreading" as it should have,  the copper pipe broke off at the joint inside the wall. In order to complete the repair, Alvin needed to make an access port on the interior wall. He very carefully sawed an 8x8" piece out of the drywall, added a wood cross brace to the existing framing, secured the plumbing pipe to it, then attached the new hose bibb on the outside. After completing the repair, he carefully re-fitted the piece to the wall and used some caulk I had to cover the seam.
We were charged only for the difference in supplies, not for the additional time involved, which I was grateful for. I was also relieved that we had decided to have this done. I hate to think about some day going out to turn the hose on or off and have a fountain inside the wall.

"Albert did a great job installing our new water softener/conditioner in our house as well as hauling off our old water softener. So far weâ ve been happy but it has only been a little over a month since weâ ve had it....so weâ ll see how it works after a few more months. I really like the fact they give you a heads up when theyâ re on their way as well as sending a photo of the service person so you know who is coming via text. I will definitely use them for future jobs."
