"We recently had this company replace our original 1000 gallon septic tank with a 1500 gallon upgrade, along with an additional drain field line and they did a great job. If you want people who are skilled, hardworking and honest to handle your project, then I recommend that you give NC Septic & Pump your consideration. Their communication is excellent and they are very easy and pleasant to work with."

"Our septic alarm went off a week or so ago and we ignored it (hoping it would miraculously reset or something as we knew it meant expense and we are seniors on a fixed income). We started getting a stink in the back yard around the septic and the toliets weren't flushing right so I called them about 1 pm today and they said they would be out within the hour and they were. My husband went out and watched as they worked. When they opened the tank to pump it, it was literally ready to start backing up into the house! We won't ignore an alarm again. They told us about how it generally backs up to the washing machine first and then to sinks, showers, tubs, etc. and that they had just had a lady that had that happen and threw away her washer because she couldn't get the smell out. We knew we were blessed to have avoided a very costly mess. They were fast, efficient and very friendly. I had paid nearly $500 to another company simply to replace my septic pump five years ago with no pumping of the tank. When Affordable removed it, it was a plastic pump which they informed us doesn't hold up very well. It was dead. After they pumped the tank and confirmed that the pump needed to be replaced, they had to make a trip to the supply house to get a new pump and return and install it. They were back and had the job wrapped up before 4:00 PM. It wasn't cheap, but was comparable to what projected costs were on Angie's List with this kind of project. They will definitely be the first guys we will call if we ever have issues again. We highly recommend Affordable Septic!!! Thanks guys!"

"This company was referred to me by another contractor. This was my 1st time using them. I called and set up an appt. easily. My plumber " Paul", called 30 mins before he arrived. He showed up on time and completed work in a timely fashion. He checked my shower and issues in all bathrooms and in the crawlspace. I appreciated him taking pics of all the problems and pics p repairs done. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything that needed to be done before work was done and then wrote up an estimate. I am in an older home and explained the type of pipes I had in other areas would need to be replaced eventually and is to send me a quote for this to be done later. No mess left behind. I am very pleased with this service and just texted my sister to call them for commode replacement. Thank you so much, Paul, for your professionalism, honesty, and kindness. I will use in the future."

"The communication with ER Plumbing staff in setting up the appointment and confirmation prior to arrival was easy and helpful. The plumber arrived on time. The job was to replace a 10" rough-in toilet with an adaptor and a Kohler 12" toilet. This toilet replacement was complicated when removal of the old toilet revealed damage that had to be addressed. This was an older toilet with a metal flange that had totally deteriorated. The plumber from E.R. Plumbing explained to me what had to be done and left to obtain the needed supplies to make the unexpected repair. He returned a short time later and made the repairs prior to installing the new toilet. The work was completed without the need for an additional appointment.. The plumber showed consideration for my home and safety by wearing shoe covers and a mask and conducted himself in a professional manner. Upon completion of the work, he removed all the boxes and other packaging . I had confidence in his knowledge of his job, so I was able to feel he would be able to successfully complete the repair and install. Prior to staring the work, I was shown what the expected cost would be and gave approval for him to proceed. There have not been any problems related to the install. This was my first and a very positive experience with E.R. Plumbing."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Landis, NC

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
