He diagnosed the problem with the circuit board from my LG refrigerator on my kitchen counter, showing and explaining what he was doing. Then he called Gray's and ordered a replacement circuit board for next day delivery. He came back with the new board and fixed the refrigerator the next day. There is a 1 year warranty on the replacement board. If you are paying to repair an old, out of warranty appliance, as I was, you just need to understand that you are taking on the risk that there may be other problems when you write the check to pay for a replacement part. I could not remove the blown bulb in the freezer. Frankly, I was a little embarrassed to call an appliance repair guy, but was glad I did.  He told me with newer refrigerators with electronic displays,  if the bulb breaks, it can short out the mother board and turn into a costly repair.  So I asked him to do it.
He had a tough time but was able to remove the bulb without breaking it.  While he was here, I had him clean the compressor and front grill.
He suggested that you always put a little Vaseline on the threads of the bulb to prevent this problem in the future. Clearly, the original bulb had been over tightened and, as I saw on line, is not an uncommon problem.  
He was very personable and offers a $10 discount to Angie's List members.  I will definitely use him again.
