"Trevor and his team did a brilliant job with the renovations of the house that was not in good shape prior. He was communicative and available to chat at all times to provide updates. The attention to detail on all tasks is what impressed the most. He was flexing with his pricing and got the job done before estimated completion date. I would definitely use his services again."

"The work was excellent and looks great. Gabe was pleasant, hard working and had useful suggestions for use of the space. We had no problems with anything promised or completed. The estimate was accurate and lower than other companies we checked on. No shoddy work or shortcuts was observed."

"Bath Planet Atlanta team was amazing throughout the whole design process! They helped our dream basement become a reality with great ideas and design options. It was a truly a pleasure to work with him. Our Project Manager was awesome throughout the entire build from start to finish. Also the office manager kept us on track with all our design choices and made sure everything kept on schedule, which was important to us. We got our dream basement and we couldn’t be happier! Great team and a great company to work with."

"We love the work Stephenson Construction did for us. They finished our basement, which included adding a bedroom, full bath, kitchenette with bar, living room, entertainment area, the addition of non-existing windows and double doors, and storage areas. Rob was very thorough and patient with us during the design phase, and he guided us through the times we were indecisive or overwhelmed during the planning process. Whenever my husband or I presented a change or new idea, Rob and Crystal either made it happen, or they would be honest about why it wouldn't work. They would help us brainstorm and offer suggestions. We appreciated their integrity and honesty for never allowing corners to be cut for the sake of fitting a square peg into a round hole, and we never felt pressured into going along with a design idea that we weren't totally comfortable with. Both Rob and Crystal went the extra mile for us during the weeks of our renovation. Rob met us out on a Saturday to help us shop for interior finishes when we started to lose steam and he came over after midnight one weekend when there was a minor water issue, which he got resolved immediately. The work crews Rob hires are pleasant, do great reliable work, and we never felt uncomfortable leaving the house or letting our children run loose around the yard. All of the work was completed within Rob's initial predicted eight week timeframe, and that included workers coming back out to fix anything we pointed out that needed addressing. If you're looking for a quality renovation, Stephenson Construction won't disappoint. I recommend them to anyone looking to update and add value to their home. We got everything we wanted and more, and now we have a beautiful basement friends, family, and neighbors (and us) rave about! We would do it again in a heartbeat."

"Kevin showed up promptly each time as promised.  He communicated regularly through e-mail and text.  They were very careful to cover carpet, flooring, and furniture to protect from dirt and dust.  Incredible attention to detail throughout the entire process.  You can't even tell where they cut holes and then patched the ceiling and walls.  Somehow managed to match the paint exactly even though I had no idea of the color.  And they were nice to my dog!

"Backyard custom construction LLC. Is awesome. Not only did they kill everyone's prices around Atlanta to build the same building but they are extremely efficient. Everyone else I contacted gave me quotes for over $4000.00 dollars. Dustin quoted me over the phone by text and on a live call $2930.00 and then I added 2 stairs to the building which only cost an additional $50.00. I'm completely amazed at how fast these guys were. It only took 5 1/2 hours to build and clean up. Thanks guys I will be passing your name to everyone I know that wants a building built."

FAQs for shelter or outbuilding building service projects in Lawrenceville, GA

A bomb shelter is an abode built to withstand disaster. Bomb shelters may refer to a space or bunker that can protect inhabitants through a hypothetical nuclear attack, apocalypse, or any other massive crisis. People usually build bomb shelters underground and stock them to live there a few days to a month at a time. Doomsday bunkers accommodate long-term living rather than just through a short crisis.

Builders construct bomb shelters with reinforced steel, box culvert, concrete, or other durable materials (but many professionals do not recommend shipping containers, as they’re not designed to live underground. If building underground, you’ll first have to excavate land before building the actual structure. You’ll have to implement air and water filtration systems, septic systems, and power supply.

It takes a lot of experience to safely and legally construct a bomb shelter, not to mention make sure it’s fit to live in for extended periods of time. It’s best to talk to a residential structural engineer near you for proper guidance.

The current standard filtration systems require filtering both air and water. For air, you’ll want an NBC filter system, which both domestic and international producers make. NBC stands for Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical, which filters out all three. If you’re only building your shelter for natural disasters, chemical attacks, and biological attacks, you may opt for the less expensive HEPA filter system.

Water filtration requires the same level of care. You’ll likely want to have a large water storage capacity to survive short-term disasters. For long-term living, you’ll want to have a water filtration system.

Rising S bunker prices depend on the size, ranging anywhere from $20,000 to $9 million. Their least expensive model is 96 square feet while their most expensive model has a gym, swimming pool, hot tub, and bowling alley.

  • Mini: $45,500

  • Standard Bomb Shelter: $67,500–$109,500

  • Silver Leaf: $140,000–$182,500

  • Admiral: $180,000–$500,000

  • Xtreme: $450,000–$780,000

  • Xtreme Bunker Complex: $840,000–$1,830,000

  • Luxury Series: $3,800,000–$9,600,000

You almost always need a permit to build a bunker on land with any type of public utilities running through it. You’ll want to check with your local building code enforcement agency to see if this is the case for your area.

Because you’re building a structural component that often requires electricity, water, and sewage services, you’ll need to apply for permits to attach these utilities to your new property. However, off-grid-only units in rural areas may not need all or any of the permitting you’d normally find in more urban settings.

To survive a nuclear blast, you’ll need to have your bunker at least three feet underground. However, it’s usually advisable to put it further underground. To survive a close strike, you’ll want to have the bunker at least 10 feet down and with five-foot thick reinforced concrete. However, knowing exactly how deep to build depends on the size of the blast you’re trying to avoid. Most bunkers don’t need to be more than 5 feet below the ground.
