"Compared to numerous hot tub repairs I had experienced/endured with other company all these years, Mr. Sergie's service (from the beginning to the end) is excellent - on time, responsible, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Mr. Segie's work is neat and efficient. He gets the job done without any confusion or uncertainty. He will be my go to guy for any hot tub issues from now on. Also, I highly recommend him/spa total upgrade, LLC for everyone who needs hot tub services. Overall, GOOD JOB/ EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!"

"Robin got back to me within an hour of my reaching out here through Angi. (We had been waiting a week to hear back from the service department where we purchased the spa.) She scheduled a service call for the next day and contacted the manufacturer for us about the status of our warranty. John came out on time, replaced our hot tub heater in well under an hour and we were back in the tub by the next morning. He was professional and friendly. I would highly recommend using Hi-Tech Spa Service. We will definitely call them again if we have another issue in the future!"

"I called John as soon as I saw that the problem was out of my ability to render safe. I called John and he happened to be in the vicinity so his response was even quicker than usual. The line did not make sense as we found it but it was alive with current. John made a fresh cut after testing it and put it in a sealed box for future use or decommission once my landscaping was completed. so now I have options  Again, John has lit upthe evaluation levels and proved to me that I have hit the electrical contractor lottery. Thanks again, John

"They were very thorough and professional.  He even put on paper booties to be sure he did not track dirt into the house.  The appointment was originally scheduled for early November, but I had no power due to hurricane Sandy.  We rescheduled and they called the day before to confirm and arrived on time.  Although I did not need any further services, they were courteous and left discount cards if I recommend them to friends.

"He seemed to do a thorough inspection, but because I am not well versed in construction jargon (both in terms of architectural features of the house as well as aspects related to maintenance/materials), it was hard for me to understand a lot of what he was talking about. My husband was able to stay focused longer but it's hard when you don't know what he's talking about and you're supposed to be taking notes on it and he's talking fast. I also wasn't sure why I was taking notes since he was talking into a tape recorder. He seemed annoyed with us for not keeping up so I just left and let my husband finish up with him. The lead inspector that came with him was very clear and explained things well. The house is 100 years old, so we had ordered most of the tests he offered. However, his report didn't indicate what tests we had ordered that were pending. Since we had talked about the tests over the phone, and I hadn't taken notes on the specific tests being done, I didn't realize the timeframe for when some of the tests would be returned (and since things were busy at the time, I lost track of what we had ordered). Thus, by the time we got some of the results back (ie, mold), we were already done with our negotiations with the sellers, which made the tests rather irrelevant. The thing I disliked most, though, was the total absence of photos from the inspection report. It makes it much harder to understand what his notes in the report are referring to, especially as there seem to be some errors (ie, notations regarding which bathroom is being referred to). I ended up having a second inspection done by someone else after we were already stuck with the house, so that we could use it to get repairs done."

"service provider sent by American Home Shield was excellent. The only issue I have with home warranty services is that they do not send their repair companies out on the week-end, even in an emergency. The customer service personnel is less than enthusiastic or helpful."

"I bought the deal for 4hrs/1 person or 2hrs/2 people. However I got 3 people for 1hr 20minutes. It just wasn't enough time unfortunately. The work they did do was very well done and immaculate. They cleaned up everything as they went. It was like the weeds never existed. I asked them to bring a lawn mower but they forgot. The job did not get completed before they had to leave which was disappointing. If they had remembered the mower, I'm sure I would've given them all As. Oh well."

FAQs for hot tub or spa repair or service projects in Lebanon, NJ

To keep your hot tub in top shape, replace the filter annually and inspect the shell for any cracks. Test the water quality weekly, and schedule a professional service annually for $100 to $200. Consistent upkeep protects performance, ensures safe operation, and helps you avoid more expensive repairs down the line.

There is no single “correct” number, but a good rule of thumb is to use up to 30 jets per massage pump to provide balanced pressure and full-body coverage. Focus on jet quality, placement, and pump power rather than simply counting jets—the right mix delivers a soothing, efficient massage while keeping the system running smoothly.

When weighing repair versus replacement, start by comparing the total repair cost and the frequency of problems with the price of a new tub. If the spa is under 10 years old and the fix costs less than half the price of a new model, repair usually makes sense. Frequent breakdowns or repairs creeping toward new-tub pricing—especially when replacements can exceed $16,000—are strong indicators that it’s time to invest in a new unit.

With proper care and maintenance, a hot tub can last anywhere from five to 20 years. Plan for an annual professional service visit to address water-quality issues, component problems, or warning signs as soon as they appear. Staying on top of routine hot tub maintenance protects performance, safety, and long-term value.

You should consider replacing your hot tub pump if you notice unusual noises, a sudden drop in water pressure, or leaks near the pump housing. These key warning signs indicate that circulation is compromised, so call a professional hot tub repair expert promptly to keep the spa running in top condition.

A well-maintained hot tub heater lasts between seven and 10 years. You should always ensure the water’s pH is balanced and schedule yearly check-ups to maintain efficient heating. Catching minor issues early and scheduling regular hot tub professional maintenance helps the heater stay reliable and can prevent additional repair costs.
