"I contaced Trent who came out and gave us an estimate on cleaning and staining our fence and deck. They were prompt and very professonal. We had many emails for contact, which they were prompt to respond to. There were a few delays with the weather and timing related to the project. They arrived when they said they would, they covered those areas so as not to get the stain on them. After the project was completed, we discussed the coverage, they came out that same day, recoated the deck and everything was done to our satisfaction. "Company was responsive to my phone calls.   Gave me a detailed written estimate.  I had already been to their website and had learned quite a bit about fencing.  I had received a total of five quotes and this company was the only one to point out that a permit was needed in my city.  Other contractors, when asked about permits, had lied and said they weren't necessary.  That was a black mark against them.



The crew came out as scheduled on a Thursday morning and demolished the existing fence and dug post holes for the new fence.  They installed a temporary plastic fence and left.   A truck delivered materials around 11 am and the crew came back that afternoon and set the posts in cement.  They were back at 7:30 on Friday and began to assemble the fence.  It was made of Western Red Cedar with cedar rails.  It was finished with a cedar top cap and a pressure treated rotboard along the bottom.



After a week, I noticed that one of the boards had split vertically, and they came out and replaced the board. The fence looks good and passed it's permit inspection!

The spacing between links on chain link comes in different sizes.  Vendor did not measure existing spacing and the replacement chain link has larger spacing so the tie in is somewhat mismatched.  Also, the bottom stay wire was not threaded through the links but just rests on the outside of the fence so it does not actually "stay" the fence.  The quality of the fence and posts themselves was good heavy metal.  Vendor was significantly poor at communication.  Didn't answer emails or phone calls.  Vendor did not start the job on time due to being behind on a more expensive job.  Vendor did not show up on time once the job was started.

However, vendor was personable and polite and had a very good suggestion on a piece of equipment to hold the gate open on windy days (which we have a lot of those here).  It is great and I get compliments on it.  The quality of the installation was good.  He also went out of his way to find just the type of gate I wanted and installed new gate posts to replace the ones I had that were rotted out.  The posts are of high quality and the tie in to the existing fence was done well.

I believe my job may have been early in his business and it is hoped that in the intervening two years the young man has become more proficient in communicating, designing, scheduling and implementing the jobs.  He is a nice young man with a lot of potential.

"Handyman Matters did an excellent job. My project was small enough that they provided an estimate with photos I sent which was very convenient. We had remodeled an older home and updated the doors. This left spaces that we were not able to seal up. They came out and made them functional by eliminating any drafting or water leaking issues we had as well as trimmed the outsides so they looked like the rest of the house.
