"We met with Glenn and Josh a few times before beginning the project. They had a nice professional proposal and were always responsive on the phone. They preferred phone and mail over email but that was fine with me.   I priced out about 8 different masonry companies since the price for this foundation and slab was all over the map (range from 9k to 24k).  J&G was slightly higher than the lowest company but their customer service, reputation on Angieslist, and responsiveness made us select them.  We had a few weather delays.  Glenn was great at explaining what they were doing and when.  If I asked them to tidy up the site, they took care of it right away.
 
They laid the rebar for the footers and while we waited for inspection, the rain made a big mess of everything.  After waiting for the ground to dry out, they cleaned up the holes and removed all the soft mud.  The rebar was all put back into place and we were able to pour the concrete and have it set up.  We also had a piece of rebar attached to the footer rebar for a footer electrical ground.  Once our electrician comes out, the grounding wire can be tied in to the rebar. 
After that week, things moved a bit faster with building the block walls with anchor bolts, backfilling, adding a load of gravel for grading, and finally pouring the slab.  In their proposal, Glenn had written that they would do the 6" wire mesh in the slab but then proposed having the concrete supplier add fiber reinforcement to the concrete at the plant instead.  The inspector was okay with this change.  My understanding is that while the fiber reinforced concrete is slightly more expensive, it's less labor.
It's been about 3 weeks and we are very satisfied with the work J&G performed.  Other contractors have all said it looks like they did a great job."

"My experience with Earth Friendly Service was a positive one. My husband and I recently purchased a house that needed some TLC. I reached out to EFS and then responded immediately. Within a few days Steve and Phil were out at my house to see what repairs were needed and to give an estimate. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. I received a couple other quotes but EFS was most reasonable as far as a balance of price and timeline for completion. She was very knowledgable about the different decking materials and helped us in making a decision about deck material.  She was provided an estimate on the spot per our request. Additionally, she followed up with a nice drawing of our project and pricing options relative to different material . Overall this company has exceptioonal customer service, going above and beyond.  Unfortunately we decided to go with another company which provided a price more aligned with what we were planning to spend.

"Washington Pavements, LLC appear on the scheduled date, but not until after 1:00 pm. I would have preferred they told me I was the second job that day so I could plan accordingly, as I had to leave prior to finishing the job. The crew members were polite and worked quickly. The owner, Joe, performed the actual laying of the asphalt and his crews prepped and finished the job. The one concern I have is that I was quoted a 3.5" asphalt layer, compacted to 3.0". I observed almost the entire process, and I am sure that a few parts of the driveway do not have that much asphalt-I am now concerned I will be looking at a resurfacing sooner than expected, but that is still years away barring unforeseen issues. They do warranty their work for seven years if you use their sealcoating maintenance, which they recommend you do a few months after the initial job and then every two years thereafter (the seal coat is about twice the cost, but if done every two years is a wash when compared to other sealcoat companies in this area). Their pricing for a replacement driveway was on the lower end, not exactly the cheapest but the warranty exceeded the standard one year warranty offered by four other contractors."
