"If you are thinking of replacing your garage doors, this is the guy to do it!!! If there was a 10 star rating, that is how I would rate John and his service. It was absolutely fabulous. He came out on short notice and gave me a very competitive estimate that did not change. He resolved some problems with the color and door style. He installed the new doors during one of the rainiest days days on record at his own request, I could have waited. During the installation, he noticed some minor damage to some of the door sections and immediately called the manufacturer to get new sections. I knew that it would take about 30 days for the new sections to come in but it was no problem. I even paid the balance of the cost when the doors were first installed and I wasn't concerned that he would run out on me. The new sections came in, he installed them and they look great. I couldn't be more happier with the doors and the fantastic customer service."

"We were not able to open the door at all hence both of our cars were locked in -- on a Sunday. We called and they said the repair person would arrive in an hour and they were right on time. (This was facilitated by their current call being in our area.) Here is what they did: HD Extended Cycle Torsion Spring *Replaced 2 Torsion springs 218x25 *Balanced & lubricated door, track & rollers *Performed a visual safety inspection of operation *Installation and labor included All parts are guaranteed for 3 years (unless otherwise stated) and labor for 1 year. We were very satisfied with the work. There was a $100 emergency fee but we expected that and really could not let the work wait until Monday."

"After going over my garage door for about 5 minutes I was told that I would need a new garage door, springs, track work, and all sorts of stuff. The original price quoted was $1299, however they gave me a deal of $999 and offered a payment plan. I had another company come to evaluate my problem and repair the garage door, and reprogram all of my remotes, to include the factory installed remote in the car for $130. It seemed that the focus was on getting me to buy a new garage door because I was told the one I had was not worth repairing. It was repaired, and is working fine.

"Bought a new home and the garage door was shaky at best.  Often it would not close and would reopen half way through closing.  A real pain.  It was new but looked like an amateur install.  I honestly considered replacing it entirely with a new system.   When I saw the angies list deal I could not turn it down.  An I was extremely happy with the service.
Kelly's Garage Door, I cannot recommend this company enough.  The door works like its top of the line.  The tech spent about an hour working on the system and it is just perfect.  The tech was extremely professional and of the highest quality.  In addition to making the repairs he communicated each thing he did, why he did it and the result I should expect.  This guy is an asset to his company.
I also purchased an additional automatic door opener device.  It was high quality and much better than the original that came with the door.  The price was great and it was programmed perfectly.
I will be using this company in the future, but he did such a great job I think it will be awhile before I need to call them. :-)
Well done, recommend. A++++++++++++++

"What a great company to do work with. Lily was quick to call me back and to get the garage door to our company repaired. Lily had the piece to fix our door the very next day and Damon her installer showed up right on time and got the job done very quickly. We will definitely be using her services again and I definitely recommend them."

"James Q. gave us our initial quote and was helpful and professional. Derrick E. did the install and haul away. He removed both of our battered old garage doors and the old chain openers. He put up the new, insulated doors, added new weather stripping, and mounted the new belt drive openers. He cleaned up everything and was also great throughout. It took all day but it was worth the time and the investment. Garage is probably 12 degrees warmer now than before and the new openers are very quiet."

FAQs for garage door opener installation and replacement projects in Lexington Park, MD

A chain-drive opener costs less, but it’s louder and needs more upkeep. If your budget allows, a belt-drive model is often the smarter long-term buy, especially for an attached garage with a bedroom above where noise matters. The decision between a chain or belt opener comes down to your budget and needs, and your garage door opener installer can help you choose an option that best suits you.

Choosing the right horsepower for your garage door opener is crucial for safe and efficient performance. Your garage door’s design and material determine the required horsepower. A single-car garage demands a half horsepower rating, while a two-car garage requires a rating between three-fourths and 1.25 horsepower. Selecting the proper power level ensures optimum performance and durability over the life of the opener.

Plan on a quick garage door tune-up once or twice a year. Tighten the chain or belt, lubricate moving parts, test the safety sensors, and swap out weak batteries in the remotes or backup unit. A few dollars in lubricant and 30 minutes of work can fend off costly repairs, keep the door running smoothly, and help the opener hit its full life expectancy.
