"Essential Extras had already designed and installed a beautiful deck for us. They used Ipe wood and hidden fasteners as we had asked. The professionalism was amazing and so was the craftmanship. After a wind storm blew down a fence in our yard in the middle of winter I called them again and not only did they do a stellar job, but took great care to respect our neighbors and cleaned up our side and the neigbor's side of the fence as well. "Joe and his guys did a great job, project was completed in four weeks.  They were very considerate about cleaning and maintaining a organized job site.  All work was done to my complete satisfaction and to all relevant building codes.  One of the best aspects was the attention to detail to ensure that the basement finishes matched the rest of the house, i.e. railing, spindles and wood work are identical to the rest of the house.  All in all we were very pleased with the project and Joe's team."

The crew they put on my project worked very hard and we're very particular in the construction. They installed it as if it was on their own home. VP's crew took out the old porch and cleaned up the area and installed the new porch in 2 days. The one they installed is incredibly solid. The job included working over an old concrete porch that proved difficult at times. The crews leader was very particular in the details. Several times he didnt like the way something was coming together so he would stop and take things apart to make sure they were installing the best fitting/looking and solid porch they could build. They didnt take shortcuts at all. I am extremely pleased with the looks/style and solidly built porch. It makes the front of my house much more appealing. I would recommend VP to anyone!"

And I especially didn't want decking material that deteriorates after 5 years. Or discolors and gets covered in mold. Very sturdy build. Build team asked me about any issues they ran into and together we worked out a plan. Very happy with the people and the deck."

"The guys were very nice to work with and knowledgeable. They power washed our deck and replaced some bad boards. They also recommend we replace the lattice with vinyl instead of wood which looks really good! After the wood weathered for a couple of months, they came back to stain it. They only sent one man to do the job which took all day and he missed a few spots that we had to go over and re-stain ourself. Otherwise, they did a good job!"
