"We hired Functional Floors to refinish the hardwood floors in our new home and install new wood in areas where there was none. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward project turned into a very disappointing experience involving poor communication, questionable decisions made during the work and a finished product that required multiple attempts to fix. Throughout the project, decisions were made by the crew without asking us how we wanted things handled. Those decisions resulted in visible filler, patched areas, and other issues in our newly refinished floors that required them to come back out and attempt repairs. For a project of this size and cost, we expected much better attention to detail and communication. When we raised concerns, the crew lead who originally did the work was confrontational and not helpful in resolving the situation. This included a pantry, two coat closet, and a small office. Steven and his crew was courteous, meticulous in keeping areas swept up, their work was precise, and displayed a high level of craftmanship, They pointed out any potential issues they found. One was the family room's stone slab fireplace. This room had had carpeting and Steve pointed out that grinding a slot at the of the fireplace bottom stone would provide a look of fine craftsmanship. "They came in and laid my whole house except for my kitchen and dining room and about 6 hours that's taking up old carpeting moving furniture everything I'm very pleased with the job I did just have a service guy here because I was having problems in my bathroom the planks had shifted out from underneath the metal strip along the bathtub but they fixed it in the blink of an eye and that issue shouldn't arise again Stefan was a wonderful repair guy I would recommend and have recommended refloor to other people they did all the bedrooms in my oldest sister's house in Painesville Ohio"
