"The project is about 50% complete at this time and we can’t say enough about our wonderful experience with Jackson Construction (Dorson Jackson). This is our first experience with new construction and/or remodeling. Dorson has guided us through planning our project to meet our “vision”. HIs vast knowledge and experience has been so valuable to us and we are so happy we chose him as our general contractor. I will review further upon completion of our project. So far we are quite pleased with Dorson, as well as all of the trade subcontractors he hired. I am excited to write a more thorough review soon. You can’t go wrong with Jackson Construction!"

"We have hired Paul and his team for several projects in the past several years, most recently for a kitchen remodel. He is professional, honest, the work is done to a high standard and we trust his judgment. He has replaced our windows, remodeled our kitchen and bathrooms, remodeled our bedroom , built a new deck and made cedar siding to match existing cedar siding on our home perfectly. We highly recommend him."

"Wow. Great!. Ryan asked a lot of questions before he came out so that we both had clear expectations. He quoted me what the cost for each item was. He did a beautiful job of fixing a large chip in the door of the bookshelf and and replacing piece that had come off of the crown. You would never know either of these had been damaged. He also repaired loose boards on the drawer of the base and put in missing boards to stabilize the crown. In addition he worked with me to discuss options for refinishing the wood on 2 chairs before I have them reupholstered. He gave three several options and prices and recommended the least expensive, because it provided the best color match with out spending a huge amount of money. (He explained that mahogany shows different colors depending on the direction from which you look at it). What can I say except that I am not sure that he charges enough given the amount of time it took him and how painless it was for us to have him come and work at our house."

"The repairs were done quickly once we made it to the top of the list and could have been completed in one day. There were more areas found once the repairs were started but they stuck with the original quote once I reminded them that I had asked about the low estimate. They found additional work that will still need to be done in the next few months and they provided pictures to explain the new finding. Their verbal estimate for those repairs are around $600 but I have yet to receive a written quote. I have to admit I was very frustrated with the lack of communication. I understand that there was a list of people who needed repairs done ahead of us and that most roofing company's are busy during the summer months, but several of the e mails or phone calls I made were not returned or very slow to be returned. All I wanted was a better estimated date or some form of communication. Our contract was signed in July and our repairs were not completed until the end of September. It was at least two months no communication initiated by them. I had to make the calls and few were returned. Not sure if I will hire again or not. The service person who was here did a wonderful job, but their communication (or lack of) was a huge dissatisfier."

"Highly recommend DeMarco Builders. Joe DeMarco and his team are professionals with integrity. My wife and I called Joe after having a bad experience trying to get some preliminary work done with a different contractor on a loft apartment and deck for our mountain home. Joe talked with us immediately, concerned that our location was out of the scope of travel for his team, but then generously reconsidered. He gave us a design plan and budget, we agreed, and work started within a week. Joe’s follow-through is impeccable, and he consulted with us and his team all along the way to make any adjustments and make sure we were getting the results we wanted. Joe’s attention to our needs and cost considerations, plus the skill of his team in executing, and his eye for hiring experienced subcontractors when necessary, proved the difference from others in all aspects of the design/build process. DeMarco Builders showed us what a professional contractor and experienced crafts persons can do on a home remodel, and we are completely satisfied. It has been well worth the time and cost to see this project executed with honesty, commitment and knowledge.. We echo other reviewers with our praise and in recommending DeMarco Builders for any remodeling or building project."

"Brian and Chris gave us a lot of insight and ideas when we were having our new home designed. They showed us how we could reduce cost to make it more affordable as well as the importance of functionality and aesthetics. Our new home is now halfway complete and while starting off slowly it is now progressing at a rapid rate. The materials and processes that Halvorson-Mason use appear to be of high quality. Chris has been great to work with. He is available, patient, knows the subs, has great ideas, and is amenable to us making those last minute changes. He takes a lot of the stress out of having a home built."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Lincoln City, OR

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
