"I had the pump for my pool break a week before my son's birthday party. Pool Sharks was able to come by the next day to check it out and repair it. They even fixed the plumbing to the pipes because they were installed incorrectly by another company. Overall great local business with dedicated workers!! Will be calling them to work on the hot tub when it gets cold out!"

"If i could give more than five stars i would! In this unfortunate era of people either not wanting to work or just not showing up after theyâ ve said they would, hot tub handyman is a refreshing change of pace! Communicated well, showed up on time, did the job better than expected and was even generous enough to follow up with some questions we had later. 100% highly recommend."

"COMPANY ADVERTISED IF YOU CALL US BY 10AM, WE WILL BE THERE THE SAME DAY. THE FIRST FOUR I CONTACTED, OF WHICH TWO WERE ON ANGIE'S LIST, ALL HAD ME GOING INTO AN ANSWERING MACHINE. THE APPOINTMENT WAS MADE AT 7:45AM FOR 3PM, AND HE ARRIVED ALMOST ON TIME. THE OFFICE CALLED US AND SAID HE WOULD WOULD BE RUNNING ABOUT AN HOUR BEHIND, AND 15 MINUTES LATER THE SERVICEMAN CALLED AND SAID HE WAS 10 MINUTES FROM OUR HOUSE. THEY CHARGED A $59 SERVICE/TRAVEL FEE AND QUOTED AN ADDITIONAL $149 TO COMPLETE THE JOB. TIME SPENT AT MY HOUSE WAS 90 MINUTES. HE WAS COURTEOUS, AND NEAT, EVEN PUT THE STRETCH BOOTIES OVER HIS WORK BOOTS WHEN HE ENTERED THE HOUSE. WE ARE VERY PLEASED, AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR FOR ANY SMALL JOBS."

"I called on a Saturday because my pump/motor was not working properly. I received a call back from Karl Monday morning. The service man, Joe, came out the next morning, had a new pump/motor, and was able to install it in an hour (including draining and refilling of tub)--well done! Today is Thursday, and it is working fine. Joe was prompt, pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient. The cost was $850 ($125 service call, $125 labor, $600 pump/motor) and did not include disposal of my old pump/motor, but I would recommend this company and may hire them again because of the fast, reliable, headache-free service provided."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

FAQs for hot tub or spa repair or service projects in Lincolnton, NC

To keep your hot tub in top shape, replace the filter annually and inspect the shell for any cracks. Test the water quality weekly, and schedule a professional service annually for $100 to $200. Consistent upkeep protects performance, ensures safe operation, and helps you avoid more expensive repairs down the line.

There is no single “correct” number, but a good rule of thumb is to use up to 30 jets per massage pump to provide balanced pressure and full-body coverage. Focus on jet quality, placement, and pump power rather than simply counting jets—the right mix delivers a soothing, efficient massage while keeping the system running smoothly.

When weighing repair versus replacement, start by comparing the total repair cost and the frequency of problems with the price of a new tub. If the spa is under 10 years old and the fix costs less than half the price of a new model, repair usually makes sense. Frequent breakdowns or repairs creeping toward new-tub pricing—especially when replacements can exceed $16,000—are strong indicators that it’s time to invest in a new unit.

With proper care and maintenance, a hot tub can last anywhere from five to 20 years. Plan for an annual professional service visit to address water-quality issues, component problems, or warning signs as soon as they appear. Staying on top of routine hot tub maintenance protects performance, safety, and long-term value.

You should consider replacing your hot tub pump if you notice unusual noises, a sudden drop in water pressure, or leaks near the pump housing. These key warning signs indicate that circulation is compromised, so call a professional hot tub repair expert promptly to keep the spa running in top condition.

A well-maintained hot tub heater lasts between seven and 10 years. You should always ensure the water’s pH is balanced and schedule yearly check-ups to maintain efficient heating. Catching minor issues early and scheduling regular hot tub professional maintenance helps the heater stay reliable and can prevent additional repair costs.
