"I interviewed several contractors for my main bathroom remodel and chose VKB for their professionalism, design, and overall approach to the process. My objective was to have a large shower with a seat since the existing shower was the size of a phone booth and the bathroom configuration presented challenges. From the very first meeting with the design consultant, BURJU, I was impressed with her ideas and suggestions and her willingness to work within my established budget. "Most pleased. Would definitely hire again. Needed carpenter to build a footbridge using repurposed wood, install insect screen under raised screen-in porch, install oak handrails, fix the threshold to our front door, and add shoe molding in basement. JW (owner) was pleasant, professional, and thorough when he came out to give an estimate. He listened to what we wanted done and suggested ways to make it work. Scheduling was a breeze. A team of two came out to complete our projects. Of course temperatures were in the 90s, but they worked nonstop. Pedro (crew chief) built our footbridge based only on description. The results were amazing. It's sturdy, attractive, and durable. Kudos for great work. Other projects were completed within the timeframe with Kevin working on the screen and railings with assistance from Pedro. The crew was timely, professional, courteous. They cleaned up at the end of each day. All work was completed within 4 days. There was only a minor issue with the oak hand rails (needed additional sanding) -- which was remedied quickly after review of the project manager, Bob. JW was a tad more expensive that other bids, but in the end, well worth the price. Glad we went with them."

"I've been pleased with previous jobs they've done for me.  And I am pleased with this one.  There were a few minor issues relating to my old house not being square, but they solved the problem quickly and got on with the job.  I am quite pleased with their attention to detail and finish work.  The new doors do not have the character that the old (original) dutch doors did, but they also do not leak like a sieve.  The new doors were an upgrade to fiberglass that Dimitri's knowledge of the product encouraged me to make from steel and I am very happy with the products they chose.  While they were here, I asked them to switch the doorknob from the old kitchen door to the basement and they did that.  At my request, they also took a look at my roof (I'd been told it had 5-7 years when we bought the house, 7 years ago) and told me that it did not need to be replaced anytime soon.  They do good work and are honest and trustworthy.  I highly recommend them.

We contacted Starcom Design/Build based solely on a recommendation from friends who had used Starcom for their remodeling projects. There are two aspects to a remodel project - design and execution - that require both to be top-notch to achieve desired ends. Tim Welsh delivered "five-stars" on the design aspect while the installation crew delivered "five-stars" on their work. There are so many choices and decisions that go into a kitchen remodel, sometimes making the process overwhelming. Tim worked with us to get through each and every one of those myriad decisions to deliver the kitchen of our dreams. All of the trades involved in the installation did an excellent job -- electrical, plumbing, cabinet installation, carpentry, granite countertop fabrication and installation, dry walling, painting and tile flooring. All installers were very professional and respectful of our home. They made every attempt to make a messy job not so. At the completion of the work, we couldn't be more satisfied -- the design, materials and the workmanship are all superb. The final cost of the project came in about what we expected, considering the upgrades and additions we made to the original concept design, and we were please with the value of the project.
