".He asked if there were any other items I needed done while he was there.  I had him add a plug receptacle outside in my back yard  and he replaced a good portion of the electrical power box in my house becauese it was no longer up to code.  I checked into it to make sure he wasn't selling me a bill of goods.  It did need to be updated.  
It was a lot more than I was planning to spend but I feel like it was the right decision.

"We are extremely pleased with the work that Philip and his team did for us. This was a fairly big budget project for us. It is always hard to know what you're getting into with a contractor or landscaper that you haven't worked with before. I'm glad to report that this project went smoothly and was done well.
The initial phase of the project was the approval from the Homeowner's Association. Philip was great to work with during this phase. Our home was new construction, so it was somewhat of a blank slate to begin with. We had to think through several aspects of the total scope and determine what on our "wish list" would fit into our budget. He made a few trips to our site discussing different options and pricing those out for us. He had great suggestions and definitely helped us hone in on the best design ideas.
The great experience continued during the project itself. He and his team showed up on time, worked hard, and were careful to leave the site in the best possible condition at the end of each day. Like any project, there were a few things that popped up unexpectedly as the work progressed. They went the extra mile to take care of all the small details.
We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. It looks great and we think that it will really help with the erosion issues. I would highly recommend their team for similar work and wouldn't hesitate to have more work done if needed.
The job was looks great and was completed on time and on budget. No negative surprises at all, but a certainly a few positive ones. They took care of a couple of things that we hadn't thought about on the front end. We could not have asked for more.
I think it is worth sharing a comment on the financial arrangement as well. I think they do it in a fair and professional way. Our project took a few weeks. He asked us for a deposit up front and a weekly draw. I think this is a reasonable process for a small business who is doing custom work. We kept the running totals and squared that up a couple of times along the way. In the end, the total was exactly what we had agreed to up front.
If you have work to be done, I'd definitely recommend that you consider Hardscapes by the Yard.

"I purchased a big deal on Angie's list and was quickly contacted to schedule service. The scheduler was very responsive and it was easy to select a time for my service. I had two items a screen/storm door install and to check the wiring on a ceiling fan with lights not working. In all, my storm door was installed (with a small puncture hole from a wayward screw) and the owner himself returned to repair my ceiling light.

The existing storm door was quickly removed and despite a minor accident with a drill installed with 20 mins to spare before my 2 hour window was up. Also a wayward misplaced screw punctured my new storm door. I next had a ceiling fan who's lights were not working to be looked at. While the original handy man did not have a vector tester to test what could be the source of malfunction the company the owner himself contacted me directly about my issue with my ceiling fan and personally arrived a few short days later to repair my lights for me. He had all of the proper tools and worked quickly. I will admit the original handy man did leave a mess behind (the box the door came in and the screws).

This company truly does care about customer service and being responsive to the needs of homeowners. I appreciate the owner and his son going above and beyond to ensure the customer is satisfied."
