Within 2 minutes of my online request, Marcus phoned me and texted me letting me know heâ s ready to help. After reading all his reviews and verifying his licenses I replied. Within 2 hours he was inspecting my home , on a Saturday, last minute. He took the time to thoroughly inspect my home and at the same time genuinely listened to everything I had to say. On top of it, he offered to assist with finding storage space and moving my belongings if needed. That was truly above and beyond. Amazing customer service and technical knowledge. "Rich did a great job with our garden design and follow-through. I had originally wanted to just get a quote for budgeting purposes but decided to accept his quote to do the garden install in the fall. He was very conscientious about early frost and had made a visit to apply some spray to reduce the impact of frost in late fall. He then made a trip up in the spring to check on the status of our plants to see if any plants needed to be replaced. I also had a problem with ferns growing out of control. Rich installed a barrier to keep the ferns within the area we wanted it to stay. All in all, I am very happy with what he has done and expect to use his services more in the future."

"We met the contractor in the spring for him to survey the job and provide an estimate. He was highly recommended by others in our neighborhood. He provided an estimate but was unable to predict precisely when he would be able to do the job; he indicated a wait of about 4 months. We decided to wait for him because he had been highly recommended. Over the next few months, our area received a lot of rain, which delayed the project further but it was not especially urgent for us, so we waited. Eventually, the contractor started the job in late August. His crew was dilgent and professional. They were well equipped with the appropriate machinery and equipment and completed the job to a very high standard in slightly over 2 weeks. We are delighted with the results, which have transformed the appearance of our house. Overall, the job represents extremely good value."

"After several attempts to just hire Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction (during a bid process), I finally did. The rates seemed comparable, at first. However, there were many projects to be completed at my deceased mother's house. Because I am disabled and not able to get to the property, I couldn't see how badly I was taken advantage of. Not only did I pay for a job they did not do, I also paid for another job that is unfinished, plus a french drain that is causing a sink hole, and the buried equipment is now above ground. All 3 of these projects pose safety risks. The french drain collapse is only a few months after installation. After bringing these issues to the owners attention (the unfinished project I'd requested be completed for months), the owner began ignoring me. When I mentioned that litigation was going to move forward, the owner said he'd look at the work that week then blew me off again. When they actually do work, Golden Hill's quality of work is atrocious and will need to be fixed. They broke the house vinyl siding when cutting down a tree branch and refused to fix it. I hired a contractor to fix that. They will overcharge (snowplowing is expensive), take advantage of you if you are a senior or disabled, and will try to get paid without working. They should not be in business and allowed to take advantage. I now have to pay someone else to fix their work, finish their work, and do a $375 job they never did. They've been paid over $10,000, with more work to be done at multiple properties. They agreed to do a quote at a second property, then never showed up. One would figure, with that kind if business, a company would want to perform quality work and respond to a dedicated customer. Aroldo at Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction will do a poor job or not at all, blow off appointments, ignore requests, and refuse to fix problems. He will, however, not hesitate to pick up a check. You should not ever hire them. If you do, be prepared to throw money away."
