"Showed up as scheduled to provide me an estimate. Confirmed that the damage was caused by a leaking shower drain connection,which allowed water to permeate the surrounding subfloor. He also informed me the the drain size wasn't to code. Should be 2" not the existing 1 1/2" inch diameter. Gene provided my with three options with each option increasing in price. Explained the positives and negatives of each option without trying to hard sell me the highest option. I chose the mid level,which didn't include replacing the south facing wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. Gene replaced the the drain pipe with the 2" and installed a new drain/hub. Removed sections of damaged sub flooring- recovered the the whole floor with new subfloor to make it more level ( problem in trailer homes ). Installed new cushioned vinyl flooring and trim. The floor came out looking fabulous !!! My wife just loved it and I appreciated how smooth it looked. I have been in the park maintenance business for 30 years ( recently retired) and I can tell you that I have a lot of experience with both good and bad contractors. I'm happy to say Gene is a good guy who knows his business inside and out and will explain what he is doing without making you feel dumb. He has gained experience in modern mobile homes thru ownership. Most will appreciate no surprise cost increases and his friendly demeanor. He was a pleasure to work with and did what he said he would do when he said he was going to do it.. We appreciated his approach and the time he spent analyzing our needs and explaining the possibilities. He was also interested in designing a system that would flexible and could be expanded later when we are ready to add irrigation, etc. (A plumber from a different company wanted to replace the pipes exactly as they had original been installed in 1947. Even when we mentioned that the location of current hose bibs weren't very convenient, he didn't seem willing to brainstorm ways to get water were we actually want it.)</p> <p>We live in an area where there are lots of rats; when we moved in the house had been empty for several months, and rats had chewed through both pvc supply lines and black AVS drainpipe. We want copper pipes, and Brian B agreed. (The other two plumbers who gave estimates didn't want to work with copper and even wanted to argue about it, trying to convince us to use pex and pvc. Ultimately, one plumber declined to give us an estimate because he didn't want to spend the time it would take to do the house in copper!!) Unlike the others, Brian B didn't push for the materials that would be cheap and easy to install. He seemed more interested in installing pipes that work for us for many years to come.</p> <p>We will definitely be scheduling Able Plumbing to do this job. "We requested help on our reverse osmosis water filtration system.  The technician arrived the same day and was friendly and courteous.   He recommended that we buy a new system and said that we only need one filter to remove nitrates.  Upon further research, we discovered that several filters and a tank are required to filter nitrates.  He did not charge for the trip and told us to buy a new system and he would come and install it. "
