"It went well for the most part. We did have a small leak in the shower cartridge but they told me how to stop it until they could get there to fix it. I have total confidence in Chris the owner but some of his plumbers are not as careful, thorough, or professional. We have used Chris at many of our properties and I would definitely use him again."

"This is been the third time I have used 1st Class plumbing. They have installed a new gas line for a fireplace, fixed my water heater and installed a pressure reducing valve, and done the tub faucet. The plumbers are very nice, courteous, and professional. They know their stuff. However, my only complaint it they aren't upfront with the costs of the jobs in some cases. During their last visit, I decided to change out the tub faucet, and specifically asked how much the part was. The plumber couldn't tell me because he didn't know, and couldn't find the part in their price book. Seeing as the part looked very inexpensive (literally like it was $8 from Menards) I told him to go ahead with the repair. He installed a new pipe for the spout and was done within an hour. Later I was charged $86 for the visit, $50 for the spout and $20 for the use of a tool required to complete the job. The bill came to $160! I was very disappointed with the charge for the tool usage, especially, and contacted Connie about the charge. Her response was that it was an expensive tool, and that they use it so they don't have to solder joints anymore so it saves the client money. Yet they are charging the clients the money I guess they're supposed to be saving. I don't charge my photography clients for use of my camera (which is much more expensive than the tool they used for the plumbing job), so I don't see why they should be charging their clients for tool usage. All-in-all, they do good work, but watch out when the bill comes."

"Jamie gave us the good news and bad news. They also did a refrigerant charge on my old unit to get us by until they were able to install the new AC and furnace. Also caught the need for grounding of our gas line to bring it up to current building code."

"My transmission went out on a weekend. I called several places for prices on used and rebuilt transmissions. Broadway Car Care did the most to try and find me a good used transmission and explained the differences of buying a used vs. rebuilt transmission. I went with the rebuilt transmission since I was going to keep the car for several years. They ordered the transmission, it came in 2 days later and they put in the next day. They called to update me through the whole process and never pressured me. I would go back to them again. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Mantorville, MN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
