"We recently hired LUX Foundation Solutions to stabilize the foundation of our garage, which was sinking. Before we decided on LUX, we talked to representatives from 2 companies; both companies suggested the same plan of action to fix the problem. "After almost a year of moving into our new home, we experienced our worst nightmare. Our not one but two basement levels had visible signs of water penetration from the previous homeowner's negligence. A record year of rainfall along with improper grading of the home helped unmask many issues to the surface we never thought about when we first bought the home. Mr. Starkey's crew of six hand dug everything on the outside, which was quite complex because of the two different level basements. They properly sealed the outside cracks and removed most of the marine clay which was creating pressure on our home. His team relocated the sump pump inside our home to a better strategic area and also made another outside sump pump to collect the water around our home and carry it away. It has been about a half year past the project completion and we had not had any signs of water penetration inside our home, even with quite a bit of rainfall afterwards. We feel very confident in the work Mr. Starkey's company performed (guarantee's his work, lifetime transferable warranty). He has checked back with us after the project was completed to see how things were and has offered to come back if we had any questions or problems which is reassuring. "Wow - punctual, courteous, professional, honest, and couldn't have asked for more.  First of all, a quick comment:  Most of the "A" rated services would not accept my business because I have pellet stove inserts.  I assume this is simply because the stove has to be pulled out and disconnected.  Metropolitan Chimney Masonry Service Inc. accepted immediately, and was very prompt and professional throughout. 
   Our rep showed up exactly on time, and explained everything that was to be done.  He was very careful while moving items around to gain access to the pellet stove, and answered all of my questions thoroughly.  He was very pleasant to work with.
    Special note:  I was a bit worried, as I have never employed a chimney sweep before, and a neighbor said that she needed to have a lot of work done.  Since it's a bit like taking your car into the shop (your flux capacitor is shot), the average Joe doesn't really know what's really needed in the dark recesses of our chimneys.  I was both relieved and very impressed with his explanation that my chimney was in fact in "very good" shape, no special or significant repairs were needed, and it was not very dirty at all (pellets produce low ash, he explained).  The crown is a bit worn re the masonry, and he showed my a picture and explained what a new crown would do to prevent rain water from seeping into the bricks.  I never felt any pressure, and everything was explained thoroughly.

"I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.
 
1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof."
