"Excellent experience with Jason and his crew, specially Puugee. They were very professional but n all aspects and quality of work, they replaced the hardwood in the whole main level with porcelain tiles and radiant heating system underneath. Jason also replaced all the balusters and refinished the stairs, excellent quality as well! Pricing is reasonable, l highly recommend them and they will be my first contact for any flooring project."

"The price was completely out of our budget -- despite what we stated we were able to pay. Additionally, we received 3 other estimates that were 40% cheaper that what Empire could offer AND included materials to cover our problematic stairs -- which Empire suggested staining to match the laminate."

"The floors look great, no problem there. Sanding dust was well-contained and cleaned up. However the scheduling (and communication about it) was a problem. The work was finally begun after three delays, totaling nine days, after initially-promised start date. With two of those delays, Larry did not initiate contact; I called him to check when he would arrive. He said delays were caused by family issues and no-show workers. His floor work is great, but time management and communication need to be better."

"Professional, great service provided! Highly recomment."

"AD Floors installed my living room hardwood floor after removing my old carpet. My living room looks lovely! They even help me moving my furniture. Great price and service!"

"We were extremely satisfied with the result.  Our floors look completely new.  They did a lot of repairs, replaced broken pieces, filled gaps, sanded old wood thoroughly, added new flooring in the closet, applied 2 coats of stain, 2 coats of Polyurethane.  They worked with my schedule. Father and son work together.  They are reliable and work extremely hard.  I highly recommend them.

"Our floors look good and we didn't pay as much as we could have. However, I did not get the service I asked for and they did not complete the work on time. They were between 1 and 2 hours late every day. They fell a full day behind schedule but didn't tell me until it was so late that they had to change type statement of work in order to finish on time. As a result, I didn't get the flooring finish that I originally asked to receive.

I had to repeatedly remind the team about items on our contract that they kept forgetting. Javier, the manager, seemed to make up excuses to explain away their errors. For example, they forgot to finish an area of one room (and never ended up doing it). I confirmed during with estimate appointment and with the staff on the first day of work that the area would get re-finished. When the team forgot, Javier tried to say that it was obviously inaccessible, though it was more accessible than other areas that the staff were able to finished easily. They were also supposed to come back and do touch-ups but never did.

If Madera had told me that I would get what I got for the price I paid, I would have said it was good deal. Instead, the product I got was short of what I was promised and I ended up paying more that I was told. Classic over-promise/under-deliver error. However, when they remember to do the work it does look good. Just make sure you allocate more time that you are expecting in order for them to finish the job, and that your expectations are slightly less than the rosy picture they paint for you.

FOLLOW-UP

Madera followed up after the work to get feedback on the project and reached out a few months later to ask about specific areas where they could improve."

"It all started well but things were not as expected on the day of service. I sent them a message with the specific square footage of the area I wanted to have cleaned and asked for an estimate. I received I quick response with an estimate of $125 so I decided to book them based on the price quoted and reviews on Angie's list. On the day of service they arrived on time and I showed them the area to be cleaned. They started by measuring the area and informed me that the cost would be $250. I mentioned that this was double the amount that I had been quoted (even though what they measured was very close to the square footage I provided when I asked for a quote). The gentleman in charge said that this was the cost and that at most he could give me a "discount" price of $230. I was unhappy about the increased price but decided to proceed because I was moving into the house the next day and would not have time to find another carpet cleaner before then. As soon as I accepted the price, he then tried to convince me to buy the fabric protector application from them. I said I neither needed not wanted this service but he kept saying "you will regret this, your carpet will be ruined if you don't apply the fabric protector".  I had to say no three times before he finally stopped his selling tactics and I really did not appreciate this attitude. The actual cleaning only took about 10 minutes and it looked OK but, based on the overall experience, my only regret at the end of it was hiring them.

"The installation went very well.  The representative came to the house and discussed options and how to maximize use of the space.  The installers arrived as promised and did a very good job, including framing utility access panels very nicely. They were very professional and left the space in fine condition after their work was completed.  Overall, the system Garage Tek installed is wonderful and I'd highly recommend the company.  The installation looks great and has been very helpful in a house where there is limited storage. Several neighbors are considering similar installations.  The only disappointment is that we contacted the company immediately after the system was installed to see about ordering additional shelving and ask about possibly installing ceiling bracket hoists for two bicycles but never got a response.
