"Positives -- Great customer service. Next day, non-emergent service appointment (even called and came early). Superior workmanship and professionalism by a technician who completed work. Extremely small project (replaced hot water shut-off valve under the kitchen sink for the dishwasher). No lie--It took all of 8 minutes to complete which was comprised of shutting off the water at the hot water heater, cutting off old valve, installing a new valve, and turning on water at the hot water heater. Negative -- Price!! $49.00 service fee to come out, look at the job and provide an estimate. Many contractors I've dealt with will not add that fee onto the total price of the job if work is authorized and completed right at that time. I've been charged a service fee if I have declined to have work completed altogether or have wanted to wait and get other estimates. That along with the $239.00 to do the minor work that I described above. I get that they are skilled workers and you should expect to pay for professional service. However, I believe that if I wasn't in such a rush to have the work completed right then, and shopped around, I could have found a price that I believed to be fairer then the $288 plus tax for this minor repair."
