"I thought they were professional and nice, but they tried to repair my same appliance three times and it still didn't work. They were telling me one thing, but were telling my home warranty company something different. When I requested all three of us get on the phone to clarify the misunderstanding, Repair Tech Plus declined. As a result, I have to schedule another company to come out and start all over again with the assessment. This should have already been closed out so I could order a new appliance."

And living in DC it just never feels easy to get stuff done in our apartment--we don't know who to hire, prices are super high, etc. I found Murphy Family Services on Angie's List and called them because they had so many positive reviews. After working with them to install three ceiling fans in our bedrooms, I understand why they have so many positive ratings; I would highly recommend them. Making the appointment was really easy as I received a response within minutes of sending an inquiry. I was a little surprised by the idea of paying for a half or whole day rather than per fan, but in the end I understand how working on a half/whole day schedule makes a lot of sense, and their prices was fairly reasonable. Our electrician, Jake, was very professional and friendly. He answered all of my questions and explained everything he needed to do. I would absolutely recommend Jake and Murphys Family Services. We will definitely call them again."

"Chris told me exactly how it would go and that it would take about 4 hours. Well he and his co-worker finished in about 2-1/2 hours, cleaned-up and hauled all boxes and old equipment off. Very professional, knowledgeable in a lot of different areas, and punctual (shows-up on-time or calls to explain why he can't be there i.e. weather). I would definitely hire this service(s) again."

"Unfortunately not good. I had to put in a service call on three different occasions for the same appliance. Once in July, then again in August and in October. Each time I had to pay the service fee of $75.00. If it was repaired properly I would not have to continually call for repairs. However I do feel that this problem falls on the company that was contracted not Choice Home Warranty!"

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
