"We went with KSI because of their excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. Given a lot of the mixed reviews on here for other area fabricators, we didn't really want to take a gamble on any company that we'd potentially have problems with later, so we're very glad we chose KSI. From start to finish everything was amazing.
KSI's estimate was more detailed than one from another company, the price was a little better, and they seemed to be more able to find the kind of stone we were looking for... all without us having officially "chosen" them yet. We worked with a saleswoman named Kelly and she was wonderful... very quick to respond to emails too. After we decided to go with them, the gentleman who came to measure for the templating was professional, knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. I ended up finding my own slabs at Triton Stone, and the process of getting quotes from KSI on different stones I picked out there was so quick -- it was either the same day or the next.
They were so flexible with us on a number of things, including installation date, avoiding a less desirable spot on one of the slabs, us delaying the measuring until we got some carpentry done, and so on.
The installers were very professional and communicated about everything that needed my input. The undermount sinks and cutouts look great; the cooktop cutout is snug and fits perfectly. No real mess to speak of after they left. There is one part that I wish was more snug with the wall, but they make it clear they can't always conform to walls... and there's not a straight wall in our old house. So it'll be taken care of with a backsplash.
We declined the sealer and warranty, so the price does not include that. We sealed it ourselves with a different product.
We are also so glad that they only charge for the amount of stone used, not the entire slab... which was great because the marble we chose was in smaller slabs, necessitating two for us instead of just one bigger one. So, know that they have remnants available from all their projects.
Overall, we're extremely pleased, and it went so smoothly it's almost a little unreal. We'd use KSI again and absolutely recommend them to others.

"Blake is a honest nice guy with a hardworking crew. Once they came to my property it took them 2 days and installation went very smoothly. Did not leave a mess, and all was done professionally, and we love our patio. We had issues with getting a confirmed work date. We signed a contract in June and the job was done in October. It was clearly communicated to us by Blake that they do big jobs, and when he has openings he puts in smaller residential jobs in so that his crew has an income year round. Summer is one of their busiest times during the year with big projects, so we were aware that there can be delays, and he is priced at a low rate for residential work because that is not where he aims to make the most profit. However, due to the excessive rain and growing pains for Blake's business it seemed like our job was significantly delayed than expected. Obviously I waited so for us it turned out ok, but I can see how this would be a frustrating experience for others. I did end up with a now it really has to be done moment so I asked Blake to get the job scheduled or give me my deposit back, and after that the job was done without a hitch within a week.
I am happy to have worked with them, and as long as I am ok that there may be a long wait I am happy to work with them again. I do believe that this delay was out of the ordinary for Blake as well, and it will not happen in the future.

"Our stone walk way is on a very steep hill.  Ab and his team worked carefully to get the 200-300 pound stones down the hill to the path site with minimal disturbance to the yard and grass.  He suggested a certain type of stone that would provide long-term durability and stability for the walk to the lake and added pleasing curves so that the steps looked more inviting than a cold stairway.  He was careful to plant grass along the sides of the pathway where the construction disturbed the grass already in place.  While the weather was extremely hot, he and his team worked every day until the project was completed, about 3 days.  They showed up when expected and communicated their plans for the next day at the end of each day.  There were no surprises.  We ended up with some extra materials (stones) and he added extra steps at the side of the house even though that wasn't part of the original design.  There was no additional cost for this work."
