"My initial contact was with Mark in late August or early September. We had arranged to meet and discuss the work that I wanted performed (pointing up the mortar on the brick chimney and under the windows on the front of the house). There were scheduling problems (for both parties) after one or two attempts and I was later contacted by Josh, who finally came out to my house in mid September to look at the job. I was impressed with Josh's knowledge, enthusiasm, and answers to my questions.
After discussing the scope of work to be performed, Josh assured me that someone would get back to me within a week with an estimate so we could schedule the job over the winter months. After a week went by, I called to see of they were working on an estimate and was assured that they "hadn't forgotten about me". After another 2 or 3 weeks, I called both Mark and Josh and left a message to see what was up as far as the estimate and scheduling.
It is now the second week in December and still I've heard nothing. I like these guys and I would like to have them perform the work, but at this point, I don't know if they are too busy or just don't want to do the work because it is not a big job. If that is the case, it would help if they would just tell me so. I hate to look elsewhere, but communication is an issue here so I may have to give up on these guys. Too bad.
I rated them as a "C" overall, with a "D" for responsiveness (or lack thereof) offset by a "B" in punctuality and professionalism
for the time when Josh did show up.

"I called Marko, sent him a picture id what I wanted, explained my super tight schedule. Marko scheduled an install time, was the right on time. It was raining so he brought his own drop cloths to walk on to protect my floors! Marko was amazing. Excellent pricing. Will hire again and recommend to all I meet!"

FAQs for gas, pellet, or wood stove service projects in Harrisburg, PA

With proper care and maintenance, your pellet stove can last between 15 and 20 years. Regularly cleaning the vents, vacuuming the ash pan, and following the manufacturer's guidelines will help keep it running efficiently. Scheduling routine professional inspections and promptly addressing any repairs will ensure your stove provides reliable heat and operates safely for many years.

Installing a pellet stove can increase your home insurance rates because insurers consider them a fire risk. However, maintaining your stove correctly and ensuring it's installed by a professional installer can help minimize this risk. It's best to contact your insurance provider to find out how a pellet stove might affect your premiums.

Pellet stoves work by automatically feeding compressed biomass fuel into a combustion chamber to produce heat. When you set the thermostat to your desired temperature, the stove releases pellets into the firebox. Dual fans distribute warmth throughout your space while efficiently expelling exhaust. Integrated sensor technology ensures precise fuel delivery and consistent performance during the heating cycle.

Pellet stoves are highly efficient, converting biomass fuel into heat at a rate of 70% to 83%. Their advanced design, often with pellet inserts and sensor-controlled feed systems, minimizes heat loss and maximizes energy output. This efficiency can help reduce your energy bills while providing consistent, effective heating for your home.

There are several benefits to installing a pellet stove. They are easy to use—unlike other types of stoves, pellet stoves have electric igniters that make it simple to light them. Many models also offer conveniences like remote and smartphone control options. Another major benefit is that pellet stoves emit fewer particulates than other types, making them a cleaner option for your home. Plus, you don't need a chimney since smoke is removed by forced ventilation through a tube.

Always be mindful when you're near a pellet stove to avoid burns. You can install a guard or gate around the stove to keep pets and kids from accidentally touching the hot surface. When disposing of hot ashes, place them in a metal container, cover it with a lid, and store it away from your home. Make sure you're also using the correct pellets by double-checking the manufacturer's recommendations.
