"We had a chimney rebuild and liner installed. We were extremely pleased with the workmanship, especially the brick match. Our home is 30+ years old and the rebuilt part of the chimney blended in perfectly."

"He agreed to come out when others either would not do the work, or quoted me months before they could get to it. He was prompt and professional, and made a few adjustments, which seemed to help the performance. He checked out the gas lines to be sure everything was functioning safely. He charged only the service call fee he had quoted me on the phone, and told me he would come back out if we continued to have problems."

"Contacted Dan and provided him job details through internet including pictures to help with estimate.   Dan provided fair pricing as well and help to reduce cost.  Robert did most of the installation.  Both gentlemen were very professional and courteous.   Job was completed to our satisfaction.  I would recommend them to others.

"Best Customer Experience EVER, and I am picky because I taught Customer Service skills & culture installations for decades! 1. They called me to learn what I needed (Pellet Burner( withing 1 day of my Home Advisor inquiry No One Else ever did hat thru Home Advisor or similiar services 2. They called before leaving offfice and arrived exactly on time! 3. Tech explained what he could & could not do with my Pellet Burner AND their standard prices before starting work - just as appointment maker had (5 stars right here!) 4. Tech found issue - that seemed intentionally caused by prior service co. (loosened fuse) fixed it, then explained to me, before continuing with cleaning service I also wanted. 5. Tech cleaned up better than I clean clean my own house 6. Tech was pleasant and WISE - He had me do the "Start up sequence" on my own, twice (15 min apart) to make sure I understood and could do it myself. He asked me to show him - and charmingly avoided "home owners are dumb" that so many techs use, especially w women, I am a senior woman 7. Tech would not take payment until EVERYTHING was done, his tools stowed on his truck and he double checked I was satisfied I could operate pellet burner independently. 8. Professional, Trust worthy & proved it many times over. Fair price. Excellent communications in content & style."

"Someone came out to check our interior and exterior walls. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He said there were no major leaks in the mortar that were visible and the leaks were most likely coming from behind the gutter. He explained that the gutter would need to be removed, meaning I would need to hire a roofer since they do not deal with gutters or roofing and that I would end up paying for two jobs. He suggested instead that I find a roofer that would remove the gutter who was skilled enough to do the necessary tuckpointing to save us money. He also looked at the interior damage and told us the materials to buy because we said we wanted to repair that ourselves. He was extremely helpful and gave us the most economical suggestions rather than booking repairs with them and hiring a roofer. If we need work done to our masonry or foundation only in the future, I will definitely go with Hicon."

FAQs for gas, pellet, or wood stove service projects in Cincinnati, OH

With proper care and maintenance, your pellet stove can last between 15 and 20 years. Regularly cleaning the vents, vacuuming the ash pan, and following the manufacturer's guidelines will help keep it running efficiently. Scheduling routine professional inspections and promptly addressing any repairs will ensure your stove provides reliable heat and operates safely for many years.

Installing a pellet stove can increase your home insurance rates because insurers consider them a fire risk. However, maintaining your stove correctly and ensuring it's installed by a professional installer can help minimize this risk. It's best to contact your insurance provider to find out how a pellet stove might affect your premiums.

Pellet stoves work by automatically feeding compressed biomass fuel into a combustion chamber to produce heat. When you set the thermostat to your desired temperature, the stove releases pellets into the firebox. Dual fans distribute warmth throughout your space while efficiently expelling exhaust. Integrated sensor technology ensures precise fuel delivery and consistent performance during the heating cycle.

Pellet stoves are highly efficient, converting biomass fuel into heat at a rate of 70% to 83%. Their advanced design, often with pellet inserts and sensor-controlled feed systems, minimizes heat loss and maximizes energy output. This efficiency can help reduce your energy bills while providing consistent, effective heating for your home.

There are several benefits to installing a pellet stove. They are easy to use—unlike other types of stoves, pellet stoves have electric igniters that make it simple to light them. Many models also offer conveniences like remote and smartphone control options. Another major benefit is that pellet stoves emit fewer particulates than other types, making them a cleaner option for your home. Plus, you don't need a chimney since smoke is removed by forced ventilation through a tube.

Always be mindful when you're near a pellet stove to avoid burns. You can install a guard or gate around the stove to keep pets and kids from accidentally touching the hot surface. When disposing of hot ashes, place them in a metal container, cover it with a lid, and store it away from your home. Make sure you're also using the correct pellets by double-checking the manufacturer's recommendations.
