"Samuel is extremely competent, timely, responsive, and transparent. Unfortunately, we had a roof installed a few years ago by a company who cut corners, and STMZ came to repair two separate leaks in the “new” roof. He documented every step of the process with photos, and explained what he was doing. (Most contractors, in my experience, do not take the time to explain the process to you!) I highly recommend his services, and if we ever need to replace the roof, STMZ will be the company we will call."

"We called AHC after some damage was done to our house and we needed an estimate to give to our insurance company. As we are new homeowners and had never lived in a cinderblock house like the one we have now, we had no idea if the damage was significant or only cosmetic. I called AHC on a Monday and was able to schedule an assessment that week on a Thursday. When Albert arrived he heard our story of what happened and then walked through the house with us. We showed him images and videos of the damage taking place. He reviewed them and ask specific questions. Then, he went in the attic and carefully looked for damage. When he returned he relieved us not only by saying he saw no structural damage but also by thoroughly explaining the specifics of our house's construction and where he looked for damage. We showed him our areas of concern and he patiently heard us and looked everything over, inside and out. In the end, our damage was merely cosmetic and could be fixed with simple DIY touch ups. We felt so bad that we had wasted his time, but he reassured us that it was not a problem and that he was happy to help. Even though we did not require a contractor, Albert stayed with us and look at everything we wanted to show him until we were satisfied and set at ease. He explained what significant damage would have looked like, the difference in what he saw in our walls, and how we could fix everything ourselves. He described an expensive procedure we could pursue, but advised us that he didn't think it would be worth it for the cost and the mess involved. We were extremely satisfied with the thoroughness of Albert's assessment and grateful for his patience and his reassurance. He didn't have to spend the time he did with us or provide as much detail in his explanations. The fact that he did speaks volumes to his honesty, helpfulness, and concern for his clients. When we look to remodel in the future, we will certainly be calling AHC first."

"Last March, I started getting bids for the paint job. Mr. Brook's was far from the cheapest, but it was the most detailed, with everything broken down by cost, so I knew exactly what to expect. During the inspection for the paint job, it was determined that I needed work done on the roof before the painting could proceed. Various other delays put us out to January, but Mr. Brooks honored the original agreement and pricing. I was impressed with the professionalism of the entire crew. Every one of them seemed to take pride in their work, and the results show. It took a bit longer than I had expected (almost 4 weeks for a 1800 sf double shotgun), but it was well worth the time and money. I hope that I won't need the exterior painted again for a very long time, but I would definitely hire Mr. Brooks for other painting needs."

"We are  very pleased with the workmanship, the guys who did the work,  <br />   Chuck the contractor we worked with was excellent. the wife loved the bathrooms. <br /> During the summer everyone wants work done to their house,  He was able to work us <br /> into his schedule.  He took time to explain the work, showed us houses that he had built, <br />  gave us ideas on where to save money, what would look <br /> best where. The other 3 other contractors gave us the feeling that the work wasn't work the time. <br /> Chuck worked around our schedules, and we were able let  him and his workers in the house <br /> to do their work.   Change requests were easy, and didn't extend the overall by a significant <br /> length of time.  Yes, we highly recommend southern equity contractors. <br /> <br />"

"It went extremely well. Donald was the tech and he not only put everything back together and working properly, he even resolved an unexpected problem which was a challenge. My door is old (and old Windsor model 4250) and although it was working, it was not installed correctly by the original owner of the home, who likely installed it himself. Now the door is in the best shape it's ever been in!! I am very grateful because they saved me lots of money, and trouble. He is very dedicated and professional, and skilled."

"Everything went great.  Charlie showed up on time shortly after I called him.  He gave me a fair price, and the job was completed the next week.  A double gate was built, and concrete was poured to make a ramp up to a slab I have for boat storage.  Charlie and his crew are professional and courteous, while being respectful of my property.  Cleaned everything up and the new gate and concrete work looks excellent.  I would hire them again in the future. <br />"

"I had several small home repairs done by this company including some drywall repair/painting, plumbing fixtures, and several minor electrical repairs. The work performed was high quality and the price was more than fair"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Maurepas, LA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
