They went above and beyond by coordinating the installation of several appliances at one time even though the company we purchased from said we couldn't do that. Michelle, the office manager, was wonderfully helpful in the coordination of everything, and their installers, Oakly and Jordan, did an amazing job of installing all the appliances and took the time to explain the operation to us. "I selected Home Energy Center based on Angie's List ratings and their coupon for a free diagnostic service call. Steve Cupps was fantastic. He arrived at our home on time and quickly diagnosed two problems. Although he had another service call to make at 5:00 pm, he returned at 7:30 with the required parts (three in all-two from his warehouse and one from an auto parts store) and finished the job. Since the weather was in the 90's every day, we were extremely grateful for his willingness to provide same day, after-hours service. They honored the Angie's List coupon and allowed us to avoid the costly bill of replacing our furnace and AC."

"We were unaware of an extra-large build-up of lint in our dryer.  The lint eventually caught fire and we had a small fire inside our dryer.  Fortunately, the fire did not spread and nothing was damaged except for the dryer.  We called SOS to see if the dryer could be repaired -- we were thinking it would need to be replaced.  The technician came out, inspected the dryer and told us it could definitely be salvaged.  We were thrilled.  He worked on the dryer immediately, but had to schedule the vent cleaning a few days later.  However, we were not charged until the vent cleaning was completed.  SOS provided me with one of the best experiences I have had with a repair company.  I was thrilled with the end result!"

"Replacing the staircase light fixture was a difficult job requiring the use of a ladder, a step ladder and an aluminum plank to create a level workspace in order to access the light. The new pendant was lowered by 6 inches, compared to the old one, to allow easy exchange of light bulbs. The electrician was creative in solving some installation problems.  He also saved me some money by advising me that some other electrical work I was considering might not be necessary."

"Work looks good.  Kept the area reasonably clean at the end of each day.  Was reasonably on time (who in Miami is ever "on time"?)  Quiet, efficient, courteous, flexible with my needs.  Assisted with the appliance removal and installations.

At the end of the day, chose Sears for it's reliability, dependability, and warranty, both on materials and labor.  Didn't need to coordinate any subcontractors, didn't need to adjust my schedule because they "had to finish another job".  If anyone thinks the price was a bit high, how much is peace of mind worth?"
