"Well done! Paul is a real, highly experienced pro. And a gentleman. He arrived on time, cleaned the surface, repaired a crack going across the driveway, a gouge (at the entrance to the driveway), and sealed my driveway as only a true craftperson would. I will have him return in a few years to seal coat it again. I highly recommend Paul. DWR 4/26/26"

"I contacted them in May 2013, but due to prior committments and weather delays, they performed the work in July.  Stone Brothers removed and hauled away our old asphalt driveway, leveled and graded and compacted the existing base, installed two compacted inches of #404 asphalt, rolled and compacted the surface, tamped the edges, sealed the seam at curb with tar. <br />"

"He gave us a quote which was ~60% the cost of a brand new Allan block wall with permit. The quote was to put the old wall back on using fallen stones and some new stones. I thought that was a bit high for the job, but we were not in a position to put a new wall in. He did the job on time and finished promptly without any delay. His men were professional and fast. He back-filled with some gravel and some construction debris and put new drain tubes. The wall looks good (check picture)."

"I set up the work with them last fall, when it was too late in the season to do repaving.  They called me about five days ago to schedule the work for yesterday.  Large crew arrived about 10:00 am (after any threat of rain had vanished) and started to work right away and energetically.  The whole process took about four hours.  I am especially pleased with the attention to detail: making sure all driveway slopes have a good drainage path, careful hand work for all edging, bringing the asphalt height to just the right height at the entrance to the garage so that water would not dribble in under the garage door, final smoothing of the surface at the end of the process.  The workers were courteous and respectful and answered all my questions about the paving process and how to care for the new driveway afterwards.  The price was about 20% higher than two other bids I had, but the estimator was so thorough in detailing everything they would do to make the best possible job persuaded me that the extra was worth paying for.  The other two estimators just basically measured the drive and gave me a figure without explaining anything.  Trampler Brothers is a second-generation, family-owned business and in my dealings with them it was obvious they were determined to do a very good job and make sure I understood everything involved. <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"<p>The new pad was excavated and filled with stone. Unfortunately, the 2 ton dump truck which brought the stone and asphalt severely damaged the edge and marred the surface of my existing asphalt driveway. This could have been avoided with the correct size equipment and a bit more care by the operator(s).</p> <p>The end result is that 80% of the new pad looks fine, but the 20% that is adjacent to my existing, now damaged driveway looks compromised. The crew should have at least sawed a straight edge along the damaged area before pouring the new asphalt.</p> <br />"

"Our Land Organics took our fuzzy ideas and drew up a beautiful, feasible, environmentally conscious rain garden design for our yard. The plan was clearly designed and easy to follow- full of plants that could handle a tricky site. I love our garden so much that I'm writing a review 2 years after installing it- it brings us a lot of joy. Highly recommend this company!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Melbourne, KY

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
