"I moved into my house in 1995. There was all ready an in-ground (plaster) pool when we moved in. It had been built in 1990 by Sylvan Pools. The pool was beautiful until around 2010. There were a couple of spots at the bottom of the steps where the re-bar was showing through. So, I decided to have it re-plastered in 2012. I thought they did a good job, at first. The last day the worker, who put water into the pool, left a stain. Okay, I put up with that. Soon after, I tried to turn on the pool light & it didn't come on. It was flooded with water. Okay again, since I never use the pool light. But, starting about 3-4 years ago my pool has started to get more & more stains in it. We live in Phoenix Arizona. We don't close our pool & the pump is run everyday. This year we have had a terrible time with algae. While dealing with it I'm finding more & more hairline cracks in the plaster. "The original pool looked great for 20+ years. This one maybe 4 or 5 years. ""ADEQUATE"" seems" "to be the ""norm"" anymore.""

"This is a family owned company. James knocked on my door letting me know that they were painting several houses in the area because the HOA was distributing notices to a bunch of homes on the block. Our home was in need of an update, so I contacted him back for a quote, which he came back and did in about 30 minutes. He told me about the process, told me to expect them on Wednesday morning and they were right on time. They power washed the exterior, taped and covered all of the windows, fixtures, doors, lights, fans, and moved all of the stuff away from the house so that it wouldn't get sprayed/painted; then they filled in all cracks in the stucco from settling all over the house and fixed a few cracks in the front courtyard wall. The next morning they were back at 6am, worked a full day and left around 5pm. The third day, they finished the "fine" work around doors, fixtures, etc. and helped us to move things back (under our supervision) and one of the owners, Alex, came by to make sure we were satisfied with the job. They did outstanding work and were very reasonable on the pricing! The guys were respectful, hard workers who got the job done (all 6,000+ sq ft of painted exterior) in 2.5 days, right on time and right on schedule. I was very impressed! I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again."

FAQs for swimming pool covers installation and replacement projects in Mesa, AZ

The lifespan of automatic pool covers varies by component. Cover fabrics require replacement every five to six years, costing between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on size and material quality. Mechanical elements like motors function for five to ten years before needing replacement at $450 plus labor. The tracking system and housing unit can last considerably longer with proper care. Scheduling professional maintenance one to three times yearly at $150 to $200 per service helps maximize the operational life of all components.

While automatic covers require a larger initial investment, they provide significant advantages that often justify the premium. The convenience of one-touch operation encourages more consistent use, maximizing energy savings that can reach 50% to 70% on heating costs. The enhanced safety features, reduced chemical requirements, and decreased water evaporation deliver ongoing operational savings. These benefits outweigh the higher upfront expense for households that use their pools frequently.

Most existing pools can be retrofitted with automatic covers, though rectangular shapes accommodate them more easily than custom configurations. On-deck track systems offer the most straightforward installation for existing pools since they require minimal structural modifications. Recessed track systems necessitate more substantial deck alterations but provide a cleaner appearance. A professional assessment is essential to determine which system best suits your pool's specific layout and structural characteristics.

Proper maintenance includes promptly removing standing water and debris to prevent excessive weight on the cover. Use manufacturer-approved cleaning solutions for periodic washing according to recommended guidelines. Keep tracks clear of dirt and obstructions that could cause alignment problems or motor strain. Professional servicing one to three times yearly allows technicians to inspect mechanical components, lubricate moving parts, and make necessary adjustments before minor issues develop into major problems requiring costly repairs.
