"We could not be happier with Brandon's work, punctuality, cleanliness, personality, communication, honesty, pricing, and overall character. We actually had contracted to do some extra work for a few thousand. Day 1 of the job, Brandon calls to let us know that we do not need to do the work as he took the time and effort to get other opinions on the installation of a beam. Again, character. He could have easily installed, but he took the time to do right by his customer and that, in our experience, is essentially unheard of. The work he completed for us-on schedule-was more than we could have hoped for. "My first experience with Julio was an after-hours discovery that my water heater was going out. I urgently called a few people, then a Boston number for "emergency plumbing." The answering service was very kind and helpful in connecting me to Julio, and through a back and forth process of texts and iphone photos I was instructed how to turn off the water. It took a couple of hours for him to arrive with an assistant named Michael. They evaluated the situation, then offered to purchase a new Hot Water Heater at Home Depot, which they did, and then offered to continue the work and were all finished that evening--a bonus for me. Although I was a bit concerned about the process of having him do that purchase, I was given the receipt from home depot and the labor and installation cost was less than I paid the last time. I paid him the total with AmEx on a portable card reader. He apologized for the condition of the invoice he gave me, since he had to re-use one and it was a bit messy. Also, I wanted to have a TACO overflow valve installed, but our communication was a bit of a challenge, and I don't believe that was done. However, he did a reasonable job of cleaning up a tough basement situation. On the basis of this work, I hired the company again to install a new faucet in the kitchen, and to replace a garbage disposal. This time I shopped for both. Michael was sent at the agreed upon time, and did a fine job on the faucet. When it was time to replace the disposal, he consulted with Julio by phone and asked if I would like him first to try to repair the disposal, quoting me a labor cost that was lower than it would be for replacement. I agreed, and he was able to find the cause of the jam and I returned the new disposal. A happy result. This time I paid by check, I will call again as the need arises. I feel they do good work, with none of the high pressure or cost that I have had in the past with others doing similar work, and they are very nice people."

"I used MA Design & Construction for my kitchen remodel. Raquel and Marc were very helpful in going through the options from painting the existing cabinets through to full replacement. We started with more modest changes but after debate ended with essentially their initial recommendation. The workers throughout the project were professional and I never felt uneasy with them being around the family. As the project progressed there were recommendations that Marc or Raquel would make which led to a better outcome. Marc would also pick out imperfections in the work and insure they were addressed which was appreciated. We're very pleased with the outcome and would not hesitate to work with them again."

Jan 28, 2016: We wanted vanities for 2 bathrooms and base and upper cabinets for a kitchen expansion. We were hoping to take advantage of free design services from Kitchen Design Center of Framingham (KCOF).

The cabinets did not meet our expectations. Instead of getting bathroom vanities we received kitchen cabinets for the bathrooms, meaning the vanities were significantly deeper than normal bath vanities. We provided the cabinet designer with specs for our bath sinks but the designer neglected to check to see if the sink would fit into the cabinet that they designed. After the marble counter was already produced we found out that the sink wouldn't fit and the solution proposed by Kitchen Design Center of Framingham was to cut down the sides of the cabinet and drawer boxes significantly. This solution was unacceptable and would void our warranty. Instead we found a replacement sink which would fit the cabinet and replaced the marble counter. Kitchen Design Center of Framingham refused to take any responsibility for their design error. Reluctantly, Kitchen Design Center of Framingham agreed to split the cost of the replacement marble counter, but insisted that these sorts of design issues happen all the time - yikes! In reality, we paid $580 for "free" design services.

The kitchen cabinets installation was also disappointing. None of the cabinet doors and drawer fronts line up as they should. The installers insisted that the cabinets were installed in the best possible way and said that it isn't possible to align the doors and drawer fronts, blaming the situation on the Wood Mode cabinets. During the design process we weren't notified that this would be the case. In fact, we don't believe that Wood Mode would make cabinets which didn't allow alignment of doors and drawer fronts. In fact, the entire rest of our kitchen is Wood Mode cabinets which align very nicely.

March 16, 2016: Following our initial review, Dave Bartlett at KCOF contacted us to see what could be done to rectify the situation. He agreed to pay the remaining balance ($580) for the marble countertop that wasn't used due to the sink change. He also agreed to come to the house and look at the door and drawer alignment issues. During his visit, he identified 2 issues and arranged to have these issues addressed. As a result, the alignment on the drawer and cabinet doors is improved.

"I had a leak in my oil tank and could not find someone that could replace my tank in less than 6 weeks, Paul called me back and really tried to help me out, he could install in less than 2 weeks since mine was leaking, in the end my oil company was able to get someone in sooner so I had to go with them given the cold weather we were having and needed to have heat in my house, I just wanted to let people know that this company got back to me and tried to help when I could not get others to even call me back. Thank you!"

"All three jobs went great. For the water heater replacement Lewis came to my house at a convenient time for me, removed the heater changed out the rotted pipes and installed a new one with warranty. The price was great too. This job was time sensitive and he made me a priority to get it done. For the bathroom tub drain unclog he was very professional and did a great job. My garbage disposal was leaking and I came home to a pool of water in my cabinet and on the floor. Lewis came out quickly to resolve the issue for me. He replaced everything under the sink and showed me what he was doing each step of the way. I think that he is a great plumber if you want to get quality work and learn about each job too."

"Bay State Refinishing was able to restore two bone colored fiberglass tub and shower stalls to a like new bright white finish in less than a day. Frank, Bay State Re-finisher, arrived on time and began preparation for refinishing both rooms. He lined the fiberglass surfaces with painter tape and masked all area to prevent over-spray damage to cabinetry and all faucet fixtures. Frank thoroughly prepared the fiberglass prior to applying a primer coat. After the primer thoroughly dried, he sealed the door entry and installed an exhaust fan to dispel any paint fumes. Frank applied a two part epoxy white gloss finish with a spray gun. The finish was fantastic. Please realize that there was a strong odor outside the rooms while the epoxy hardened. We were able to significantly reduce the odor with our air purifier place outside the room doors. The odor was gone the following morning. We allowed the paint to thoroughly harden for two days and we removed and disposed all paper coverings and painter’s tape. Although the floors for the tub / showers were initially slippery, the traction increased after a few showers. If you are concerned about it, ask Bay State Refinishing about options to apply a roughened floor surface. We are very pleased with Frank’s attention to detail and the refinished tub / showers."
