"We could not have been more satisfied and would, without reservation, recommend Kitchen Tune-Up for anyone thinking of installing a laminate countertop. From the moment we met Matt Silva we were very comfortable with him and felt confident that he would be able to do the job. The countertop is important because it is where we have had nearly all of our meals for the last 30 years. Not only did he carefully take the measurements for our new countertop but he offered valuable advice as we redesigned it, including extending the countertop on both sides so one of us no longer had to sit sideways while eating. He also curved the ends so young ones would not injure themselves running into a sharp corner. We chose a royal burgundy laminate that went well with our purpleheart wood cabinets and floor. Matt and his cousin Johnny returned to install the countertop manufactured by The Countertop Outlet of Peabody. It looked terrific. They were both very professional, hard working and friendly. There was some additional carpentry work needed which they did beautifully (including advising us that an electrician was needed to cover some uncovered open wiring). In addition, they installed a smaller countertop for a kitchen bathroom vanity, also perfectly done. They also coordinated with a plumber who appeared the next day after they completed their work to reconnect faucets, the disposal and a hot water dispenser. As we said, we were very pleased with Kitchen-Tune-Up."

"Bill Shea's Replacement Countertops are very easy to work with. I had two different salespeople and they were both very pleasant and very organized. I had talked to them about a year ago and then forgot about and then finally decided to go ahead with it. This was about as seamless a kitchen renovation that one could ever hope for.  Dave listened carefully to the goals we wanted to achieve in our kitchen, and was patient with the design adjustments we wanted to incorporate as we considered each version of the design plans.  One cabinet in particular that was added toward the end of the design process was brilliantly conceived on his part--a cabinet to store large items that looked like a lovely piece of dining room furniture, with exterior shelving and drawers. It is a centerpiece in the kitchen.  Dave was careful to preserve important walk ways in our kitchen so as to not create bottlenecks--an important element in this centrally located kitchen.  His advice on style and color of cabinetry was also highly valued in our desire to achieve a cleaner and brighter look, yet one that was still consistent with our 1931 Colonial.

The Brookhaven cabinets are beautiful and well-made.  While they are pricey, Dave was able to steer us to take advantage of a manufacturer's discount.  The selection of hardware that was available without incurring additional cost was completely adequate, and we took advantage of this option.

Installation of the cabinetry was smooth and timely.  We decided to make a last minute change to the placement of our microwave, which necessitated the order of a new drawer.  This took longer than we had hoped, but understood that this was not a Kitchen Center issue, but rather one of the manufacturer, as each items is custom made.  When the drawer arrived, it was without a front--this added more time. 

Once the cabinetry was installed, irregularities were minimal.  Dave and a service that works with him tended to adjusting hinges, covering screw heads, and painting areas that needed to be smoothed. 

Overall, working with the Kitchen Center exceeded our expectations.  Communication and responsiveness were excellent.  They partnered well with our contractor so that there were no glitches or last minute surprises--almost unheard of for a kitchen renovation.  The quality of the design and workmanship has made for a space that we are loving, and our only regret was that we did no redo our kitchen sooner!
