"There are two Bogardus Plumings. One is Josh and the other one is his dad. We have used him on and off over the years and he used to live down the street from us so we kind of know him. He came when he said he was going to and he did the work in the time he said. He was prompt and accurate. He gave us an estimate and he didn't' have any extras on what he estimated. He was really responsive. It wasn't an emergency thing. It was just that it was clogging up and needed new pipes."

"It went really well.  We live in a 60-year old home, and this sink was one that I found at a thrift store, believe it or not, for $19.98.  It was brand new, and my husband said it was a top of the line name brand.  I was so happy after taking measurements that everything would fit.  Our old ceramic sink really became sort of nasty looking, no matter how much Comic I used, plus the faucet was leaking.  I also know I could have had the ceramic sink refinished, but finding this sink the way I did, felt like an omen of sorts.  The sink actually had a new facet and side hose already attached, and I know those alone are very expensive, so I got a heck of a deal.  What's nice is I have never had a dishwasher after 35 years of marriage, and now I at least have a hose to help rinse dishes off, and it is located close to my Keurig coffee maker on the counter that now all I have to do is use my hose to fill the reservoir rather than keep a measuring cup nearby.  <br /> The plumber showed up on time and did end up having to leave for parts a couple of time (for which this time was not charged for), and he did a great job.  Southside Plumbing honored my Angie's List coupon, which helped with the cost, as well.  The plumber also suggested putting in shut-off valves under my kitchen sink for a very minimal cost, which is nice because now if we have sink problems, we won't have to go to the basement and shut all the water off.  <br /> Kudos to Louise, the plumber, who went out of his way to not only get the sink put in and working, but everything was spotless when he left.  Thanks Southside Plumbing! <br />"

"This is an update since the excavation.  I had a problem with the inside pipes backing up into the floor drain and my indoor pipes.  I called the company to ask about them coming back out, as when they did the water blast on the first visit, waste came back up out of the sewer line.  Well, I travel a lot and did not realize there was still waste from that visit backed up in the pipes in my home.  I called Cali and she did not respond in a concerned way, stating it wasn't anything they did, quoted me a price to come back out and snake the main drain or sewer line again and a travel fee.  She gave me some times they may be able to come back out here almost as though it was an inconvenience.  I explained that I felt it was a remaining job from the original visit that was not taken into consideration by the plumbers when the sewer shot back up due to the broken line.  I am also questioning why they were going to do the hydro treatment not knowing what type of sewer line I have, which is the heavy paper, and during the excavation the plumber performing the work said it is not a good idea to use that treatment due to the type of line. <br /> <br /> I called the actual plumber on his cell number given to me at the time of the digging who did the excavation and he was tied up and said he would call me right back.  He never called back. <br /> <br /> So, given these facts, some drain cleaner and a plunger on my part to get the back up out of my pipes, and possibly another future visit from a plumber , I am changing my original review due to the fact that after spending 3450.00 with them they have no concern or urgency about remedying my problem.  <br /> <br /> I will hand it to the plumber doing the excavation, he is very skilled, however the company did not respond to my issue after the fact in a positive way, and I am removing my original review. <br /> <br />"

"I would highly recommend them. They are a very good company. For what I paid and the amount the repairs I ended up using them for, it was well worth the money. They were very courteous and professional, I even got to know some of their employees since the same workers came back multiple times. I had to have my furnace almost totally rebuilt and the whole thing only cost $80 when it normally would have been $300-400 or more."

"9 yrs ago I replaced the faucets in the upstairs bathroom. This time, I didn't have the time or patients to do it again (we were selling the house). I did buy the replacement faucets to have them installed. However; I was quickly notified that due to tight clearances, the pull-up drain type faucets I purchased wouldn't work properly (which I knew from previous experience, but bought regardless). I was told I needed a pop-up drain (Ahhh, as the light comes on)! Wish I'd have thought about that 9 yrs ago. They also replaced a drain in our basement floor. He quoted me a price, and said it depended upon how much of the cement floor needed to be taken out. There was a possibility of a crack or hole in the pipe. He said 3 ft was average for this repair. After the work was completed, I was surprised and happy to find out there were no holes or cracks, and they only needed to replace about 2 ft of cement. The bill was less than the estimate . I feel they tried to save me money wherever they could, and did an excellent job. They took pride in their workmanship, knowledge, and cleanliness. I would highly recommend OCB Plumbing."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Mineola, IA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
