I upgraded to the best siding recommended by Consumer Reports, which is manufactured by the company Elmans' often uses. The windows were also good quality, and look better than some my neighbors had recently installed. The gutters and gutter guards were installed well too. I appreciate that they are a family business, which was very responsive. "Removed the old shingles and small repairs on the structures, replaced the roof and did an excellent work. They were courteous and prompt, they cleaned up well no thrash and no scrap was left, and you will never know that a new roof was installed at all. The price the best among the three quotes that I got."

"Window Source installed a new front door (plus framing) and did an excellent job. They were professional and responsive from the first contact until they finished the job. I spoke with the company president who answered all my questions. Compared to other companies that install windows and doors, Window Source didn't use any high pressure sales tactics or gimmicks and offered very fair upfront pricing. The installation was scheduled in advance and the crew arrived on-time (actually a little early) and quickly got to work. They removed the old door/framing, installed the new framing and door and cleaned up in only about 2 hours. The new door looks great, closes smoothly and seals tightly. "The install of the roof and gutters was amazing. Everything else was pretty awful. The sales guy didn’t clearly convey all the various options so we’re left feeling we had only one option therefore feeling overpaid for everything and the loan pay work was done wrong. We also were never given an itemized invoice of the cost of the materials and labor costs which is commonplace for contractors and illegal to not provide. The sales experience was extremely predatory. The scheduler didn’t plan appropriately so our materials were delayed and the gutters weren’t installed on time but a week later. We were promised they’d thoroughly clean our property after and yet there was trash and nails left everywhere as a hazard to our child. Also promised to have lots of pictures of the progress and that didn’t happen. We were severely up charged an extra 700$ for more materials day of the install even though it wasn’t needed. The project manager only managed interactions with us well but not with his team clearly because every aspect of this was poorly handled. If you want a roof replacement done well and quickly, definitely choose HGE but be cautious because they have left us feeling scammed for over promising and under delivering."

"Sean Wright was always professional, prompt, courteous, friendly, and very helpful. I was not sure of some things I wanted to do and Sean made suggestions of various options I had not thought of, then talked through the pros and cons of each idea until I came up with a decision of what would work best for me and what I wanted to accomplish. This was invaluable in helping me manage the costs. The work he and his team did was excellent quality and they cleaned up every day before they left, and made it as easy as possible for me to live in the house while it was being renovated/remodeled.

The subcontractors were also good for the most part. The plumber and HVAC people were competent and completed their work in a timely manner and the pricing was reasonable. The cabinet maker was excellent. He built custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets to my design and measurements and installed them for less than half what Lowes had quoted for similar cabinets and they look great.

The electrical contractor, Kennedy Electric did good work but the price was twice what I had expected and took months longer than it should have.

I would not hesitate to recommend SLW for any size construction or remodeling job. I will be contacting them again later in the summer for some work on the exterior of the house.
