"Found me the right size water heater, a few days before Thanksgiving and had it installed within 2 hours. Clean and efficient and Bradford White gas water heaters are American made. Built to last. Daniel Westereng did a great job with the install. Clean, fast, thorough and polite."

"Parker was great. Installation was very well done and looks great. Clean up was very good. Bill Metzger Plumbing arrived when promised. Responded to phone calls promptly and were extremely professional. I had the unfortunate experience of call some competitors who never showed up for an appointment and we recommended by the manufacturer. Wish I had called Bill Metzger Plumbing first."

"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"Awesome. Johnny R. came out, got a call and text 30 minutes before arrival as promised (arrived 15 min early, and right at the start of the promised AM window), friendly and super courteous, professional, diagnosed the problem right away (tree root clogging drainage line to the street, backing up drains into the yard), ran power hoses from street to all drains, cleared the blockages, demonstrated wide open flow. Could not be happier; highest recommendation."

"Art Hovsepian is an absolute professional. He runs a tight ship, employs all of his own plumbers, drywall patchers and doesn't use any sub-contractors. They take their time and do it right the first time. The crew was punctual, cleaned up after themselves and finished the repipe in three days. The drywall patchers came the next day and took a couple of days to finish their work, and we were ready for the painters the next day. Everything was completed within a week and we were totally pleased with the results, the follow up and I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I did much research on repiping and on the various companies that provide this service and am glad I made the decision to go with Repipe Pro."

"My water main that goes from the street to the house had to be replaced. I called 2 other plumbing companies. One did not even bother to return my call until 5 hours later and another one tried to rip me off on price. I called this company at 7pm at night and they returned my call within 10 minutes. They set my appointment the next day at 11am for a free estimate. They came right on time. Joseph was extremely knowledgeable and even called his supervisor so they could put their heads together to figure out how to do the job for the least amount of cost to me. They used this trenchless technology so they did not have to dig up my entire yard. Once the price was agreed to I was expecting at least a few days to start. I asked them when they could start and Joseph said "right now". The digging was minimal and the job was completed by the end of the next day. They took care of everything from the pulling of the permit to the inspection by the county. After the installation was complete and the inspection was done they filled the hole they dug up with fresh cement and the hole in front of my house with fresh stucco. Everyone was a true professional who worked on this job. I cannot be happier and I would give all the people on Joseph's team who worked on this job my highest recommendation. A special thank you to Tony who stayed until 9pm in the cold the first night breaking cement and digging a hole in my yard so the job could be completed the next day. My water pressure is twice as much as it used to be. If I ever need anything plumbing related I will call them again."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Mission Viejo, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
