"In 2017, the water table under our house increased. Our finished basement flooded. I contacted several places, most were unresponsive or had a big sales pitches but couldn't get to it for months. Then Absolutely Dry Basement and Waterproofing called back. They told me what needed to be done and I said go. They put in new drain tile throughout the basement and a sump pump. The price was reasonable. I waited for big rains before posting this review. We had several this year and my basement is absolutely dry. Outstanding company."

"Exceptional service, very professional, very knowledgeable and honest from the initial contact to finishing the job! Very impressed with this company! My basement now looks great as they sealed the cracks to reduce the radon levels and lined the walls."

"The initial consultation was great! They came highly recommended by a number of people. We dealt with water problems for over 25 years and were certain we would never be able to enjoy a dry basement again but they proved us wrong!! They waterproofed our basement, braced the walls and gave us recommendation on trenching our yard and putting on larger gutters to prevent any overflow problems. The guys were a joy to work with and we looked forward to seeing them every day and missed them when the work was done! We are now enjoying a dry basement and are able to have a family room with no problems!!! We will definitely recommend them to everyone!!"

"10lb weight restriction. This was extremely frustrating since we were told they would come on Tues. Overall, once the gentlemen arrived all of them were pleasant and courteous. Work went smoothly and they finished in 4 days. The concrete finish work is poor. This was especially discouraging as he guy old me he doesn't normally do concrete work. It seemed as if som of he workers weren't as knowledgable about the product, since they didn't have answers for questions I had. The first night after it was finished, we had a large rainfall. The basement is dry and with the dehumidifier running, I no longer smell mold. We looked in he drain ports and noticed water running the opposite direction of he sumps. Regardless, the basement is dry and water stayed out! We're glad we did it as the end result is a dry basement. However, there were issues we weren't happy with as stated above. Maybe we're just being picky, but we should-it was a lot of hard-earned money."

"This spring I encountered water problems in the basement. Part of the cause was water building up in the driveway right in front of the garage door after a heavy rain. To solve this, a drain was installed outdoors near the lowest point of the concrete drive. Water flows into the drain and through a tube that is buried in the front yard and exits near the front of the property on the other side of the yard. I have noticed a couple of issues with this design. <br /> First, during heavy rains (which we did have a time or two after the installation), the water pools between my and my neighbors yard. I believe it is far enough away from the houses to not cause problems, but this still concerns me. I called back and their solution was to put a big rock at the end of the pipe to divert the water flow. Now I have to remember it is there, and try not to hit it when mowing. <br /> Second, as the water flows into the drain, sometime the flow is restricted by seeds (hellicopters) and pine needles that have fallen off of nearby trees. The drain clogs unless I am constatnly removing the obstructions. <br /> Otherwise, the work was done very efficiently, on time, and professionally. <br />"

"Price was very reasonable. Product came in at date expected. Crew was very friendly and cleaned up everything. We had some weather issues on first install date, so crew did what they could and came back on a weekend day to finish the job. <br />"

"They installed the lines incorrectly and we had to have them come back to move them. They did come back and do it but we do fear that once that’s all done, there’s still one more thing they have to come back to redo. The technician was really good at the roll measure twice cut once. They were fine. We did think perhaps that this person was new. Maybe he was training on us a little bit. He was pleasant. He was here for a really long time."

"This is the company to go to for anything related to basements. Our basement walls were bowing and we were getting water in the basement. They installed steel beams to stop the movement of the walls and put in a drainage system. They were great to work with, and we couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. They saved the value of our home!"

"They installed 5 plates against the wall and attached them to the other side of the driveway where they drilled down. It pulled the wall back up and all is secure and lifetime warranty that is transferable. Happy with results."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Moline, IL

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
