"In 2017, the water table under our house increased. Our finished basement flooded. I contacted several places, most were unresponsive or had a big sales pitches but couldn't get to it for months. Then Absolutely Dry Basement and Waterproofing called back. They told me what needed to be done and I said go. They put in new drain tile throughout the basement and a sump pump. The price was reasonable. I waited for big rains before posting this review. We had several this year and my basement is absolutely dry. Outstanding company."

"The work took two days. The price was almost 1/3 less than a competitor bid. They installed a French drain system and a sump pump. The other bid was for the glue on drain system which is actually not allowed in some areas and is not the better solution. There is a very good warranty on their work. The workers were very professional and skilled. I would highly recommend this company!"

"Exceptional service, very professional, very knowledgeable and honest from the initial contact to finishing the job! Very impressed with this company! My basement now looks great as they sealed the cracks to reduce the radon levels and lined the walls."

"10lb weight restriction. This was extremely frustrating since we were told they would come on Tues. Overall, once the gentlemen arrived all of them were pleasant and courteous. Work went smoothly and they finished in 4 days. The concrete finish work is poor. This was especially discouraging as he guy old me he doesn't normally do concrete work. It seemed as if som of he workers weren't as knowledgable about the product, since they didn't have answers for questions I had. The first night after it was finished, we had a large rainfall. The basement is dry and with the dehumidifier running, I no longer smell mold. We looked in he drain ports and noticed water running the opposite direction of he sumps. Regardless, the basement is dry and water stayed out! We're glad we did it as the end result is a dry basement. However, there were issues we weren't happy with as stated above. Maybe we're just being picky, but we should-it was a lot of hard-earned money."

"This spring I encountered water problems in the basement. Part of the cause was water building up in the driveway right in front of the garage door after a heavy rain. To solve this, a drain was installed outdoors near the lowest point of the concrete drive. Water flows into the drain and through a tube that is buried in the front yard and exits near the front of the property on the other side of the yard. I have noticed a couple of issues with this design. <br /> First, during heavy rains (which we did have a time or two after the installation), the water pools between my and my neighbors yard. I believe it is far enough away from the houses to not cause problems, but this still concerns me. I called back and their solution was to put a big rock at the end of the pipe to divert the water flow. Now I have to remember it is there, and try not to hit it when mowing. <br /> Second, as the water flows into the drain, sometime the flow is restricted by seeds (hellicopters) and pine needles that have fallen off of nearby trees. The drain clogs unless I am constatnly removing the obstructions. <br /> Otherwise, the work was done very efficiently, on time, and professionally. <br />"

"I thought their prices were competitive, but they always made me feel kind of dumb when I had a question. I don't feel like they really wanted to answer my questions and I don't feel like they really wanted me to talk or really do anything at all. There was nothing wrong with the siding or the shutters. However, the door was not properly installed. I kept complaining about it and a guy would call and say he would come to look at it and he would never show up and we went round on that for a year or year and a half. I called to complain about the door again and she said well, why you waited so long to do anything about it and I said I haven't. I said I called and you have somebody call me, they set up an appointment and they never show up and cancel on me and so, they're like oh, he's not the guy that usually installs doors, we will send out our good guy and I'm thinking why didn't you send your good guy out to begin with. The guy who does the crappy job scratched our door and so our brand new door that we just paid to have professionally painted, has a big scratch on the side and I wasn't really excited about that. It was to the point where we could not get the front door open. We were seriously afraid that if there was a fire, we would die in the house because we could not get the door to open, it was that bad. So the guy who does the crappy job came and looked at it, took out his screw driver and moved stuff around and he ended up scratching the front door. When I called to complain about that, that's when they sent out the good guy, but they said that because of the cold weather, they could not do any putt or touchup on the door and when the weather got warm, I called to have somebody to come out and do the putty and touchup on the door, but they would make an appointment and then they would never show up. When they sent me the good guy, he did fix the door, it does work now, but we still have the big gouge on it."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Moline, IL

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
