"I cannot say enough about how wonderful this team was! Rudolfo, Miguel and Troy were able to listen to what was needed, take the appropriate measurements and gave a fantastic quote that could not be beat. They took great care with maintaining the cleanliness of the house and put down runners to minimize any dirt coming in onto our carpets. They made sure to make sure we were happy with all the steps and they were all very friendly! Will use again on any future projects we have! "

"Mitch did a great job and we are so, so happy with the results. He provided professional results at a price much lower than his more corporate, higher-end competitors. The project did take a little longer than we had hoped (both my husband and I as well as Mitch) but it was all worth it in the end.
Mitch also allowed us to do the painting ourselves to keep the costs down. This really helped us a lot and wasn't something other contractors were willing to do. He provided lots of tips and advice on how to paint them correctly for best results. We really appreciated that.
We love our custom built-ins and I recommend Mitch to anyone else who may need similar work done in their home!"

"
The contractor showed up on time to look at the work. The contractor indicated submitting a proposal via email for the work over the weekend, but it wasn't received until sometime mid the next week around 8/26 due to some family conflicts. The proposals were complete as promised and the pricing was within our budget. I immediately responded requesting a date to start.

I never received a response to the email. I sent a text the same day and the contractor responded he would look at it later. I sent another text the next day after not hearing anything back, and finally received a response 2-days later that he had two big jobs that has snowballed into more work. He indicated right now it would be about a month and a half.

So I responded on 8/28 and ask if he could commit to a 10/12 start which would be about a month and a half.

His response on 8/28 was he may be out of town that week but would look at the calendar over the weekend and give me a firm date to start.

On 8/31 (the last time I heard from this contractor) was "I am waiting to hear back from someone then I'll be able to give you a start date."

We lost all confidence in this contractor and decided to seek other pricing.

The proposal on the next contractor was higher and out of our budget. Since we had the proposals broke up in 3 phases, we were able to still have 2 of the most important phases completed under budget and maybe come back to the 3rd phase. Most importantly we now have a cense of confidence starting out with a contractor we trust will provide us a good job.

"

"To be clear, the cost is labor only, and does not include the materials, which I purchased myself.

First, the quality of work is very high. It transformed my kitchen, bathroom and family room from a source of embarassment to pride. Rather than talking in abstract about Jerry's workmanship and so on, here are specific examples.

1. The cabinets came with a rough installation plan. Jerry made sure that every visible surface of the cabinets is covered with finished materials. This includes the sides of panel boards, and the bottom of the cabinets over the window.

2. The removal of the bulkheads left a scar in the ceiling. Jerry re-textured and repainted the ceiling. The scar is completely invisible (I am very observant), and my cabinets go all the way to the ceiling.

3. All the cabinets are perfectly lined up, top, bottom and sides. The line where the cabinets touch the ceiling is perfect, no crack can be seen.

4. Jerry installed 2 new lights in the family room. The installation required tearing out strips of dry walls and ceilings for the new wires and hardware. Jerry patched the wall, re-textured the ceiling and repainted both. The scars are completely invisible.

5. The wall tiles in the bathroom are simply beautiful, and so are the new medicine cabinets.

6. Jerry saved me tons of money by pointing out puck LED lights for my glass-door cabinets. these are super cheap, dimmable, and they look fabulous.

7. Jerry is very flexible and accommodating. On several occasions I suggested additional work (e.g. new trim, new medicine cabinets) not discussed in the original contract. Jerry always said yes and charged me very fair prices.

In addition, the price is very reasonable. To show this point I compare Jerry's work above with my experience with a and quot;high-endand quot; contractor, who proposed a MUCH HIGHER price than Jerry. While he did not do any work for me (thank goodness for that!), the following comparisons between his proposal and Jerry's work are illustrative.

(1) He proposed 39-inch wall cabinets and crown moldings to cover the gap, because he could not cover the cracks between the ceiling and cabinets after the removal of the bulkheads. In contrast, Jerry installed 42-inch wall cabinets for me. The top of the cabinets seamlessly blended into the ceiling (see 1-3 above).

(2) For LED lights for my glass-door cabinets, he proposed strip lights from Kirby Risk. These cost $10/foot, plus 2 transformers at close to $200 each. The grand total was close to $600 (am I made of money?). In contrast, the Puck lights Jerry proposed cost me less than $10 each, for a total of less than $40.

(3) His proposal is vague, including only broad descriptions (e.g. demolition) and a grand total. I had no clue how much each item cost and what I was paying for. In contrast, Jerry's proposal is super-detailed, listing costs item-by-item (e.g. $40 for moving a power outlet from floor to wall).

I can go on and on, but I think you have got my point. This and quot;high-endand quot; contractor, by the way, has lots of good reviews in Angie's list and tons of testimonials from customers. In my opinion, Jerry deserves to be higher-ranked and better-reviewed, because of higher quality and better price. What else can you ask for?

"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Monticello, IN

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
