"Beware: Overbilling, bait-and-switch, and Miscommunication I hired Groundworks (Saint Paul, MN) in June 2025 for a combined structural support and waterproofing project at my home. The project was advertised as a complete solution to address foundation wall deterioration and structural support. What happened: The contract and engineered plans explicitly called for cast-in-place (CIP) footings for each I-beam and a vapor barrier. I paid for these as part of the $70,000 project. After the work was completed, I discovered the CIP footings, vapor barrier, and other items were not installed, despite being billed and included in the plans. The installed I-beam system does not support the weight of the house, only lateral wall movement. This was not explained during the sales process. When I asked for clarification, I was told ?site conditions vary from the plans,? but no specific conditions were identified. Revised as-built plans were submitted instead after I raised concerns "

They finished the project 2 weeks after booking. The workmen were effiecent, made sure to cover everything so nothing got covered with dust, they even swept! "Lewis Insulation came out for work on my home for ice dam issues. Lewis Insulation was to air seal our attic and add insulation. We decided to move forward. Lewis Insulation allegedly performed the work, but unfortunately the ice dam issues persisted. In short, we flushed thousands down the drain by going with Lewis Insulation. Xcel energy performed a home energy audit for us after Lewis Insulation performed the work. The Xcel home energy audit revealed that air sealing was missed during the air sealing process. After confronting Lewis Insulation, the team claimed some of these areas were inaccessible. This includes our furnace flue, which gives off a ton of heat in the winter. For those who may not be aware, this is egregious because of how much heat comes off that pipe. At no point did Lewis Insulation inform me that they were unable to air seal specific areas, including the flue. Lastly, they failed to insulate our basement rim joists properly. In short, we paid to have the team air seal our home and help with ice dams. They failed to eliminate the ice dams, and Xcel suggested we get our home air sealed again. I cannot recommend this company to anyone."

"Just recently had a 48in x 48in egress window installed in our basement. The 2 gentlemen, Caleb & Graham were nothing short of awesome. I'm a retired carpenter and I can say their craftsmanship was second to none. Clean, precise. I was enjoying the perfect gape in our foundation and the framework even before they installed the window, because it was being done properly. Heck, even the hole they dug for the well was precise. Both Caleb & Graham were very friendly, communicative and courteous. Would use again and highly recommend."
