Groundworks

We engaged groundworks to install hydraulic piers under cracked and sagging garage floors. Our terrific install team of Marc and Brandon performed a detailed analysis after they arrived, including drilling and measuring our slab depths along the sinking wall. They determined that unfortunately our slab itself was variable in depth and not thick enough throughout to support the work of hydraulic piers. Instead they were able do foam injections throughout to both give 30-50% of the targeted lift and provide additional slab depth and support to prevent future cracking. It wasn't what we hoped, but they did a great job of explaining the limitations of our site and providing the best intervention possible, all at a greatly reduced cost! Thanks, Marc and Brandon!!

Beware: Overbilling, bait-and-switch, and Miscommunication I hired Groundworks (Saint Paul, MN) in June 2025 for a combined structural support and waterproofing project at my home. The project was advertised as a complete solution to address foundation wall deterioration and structural support. What happened: The contract and engineered plans explicitly called for cast-in-place (CIP) footings for each I-beam and a vapor barrier. I paid for these as part of the $70,000 project. After the work was completed, I discovered the CIP footings, vapor barrier, and other items were not installed, despite being billed and included in the plans. The installed I-beam system does not support the weight of the house, only lateral wall movement. This was not explained during the sales process. When I asked for clarification, I was told ?site conditions vary from the plans,? but no specific conditions were identified. Revised as-built plans were submitted instead after I raised concerns

Project was completed very efficiently and cleanup was complete. Marc and Brandon were outstanding. I would recommend them and the company to anyone needing this type of work done. Very satisfied.

They tried to sell me $40,000 more work than I needed according to my engineer. The basement is dry.

I am very pleased with the service from the start. Logan was excellent to talk to and explained everything perfectly from the beginning. When Adam S and Dusten came to do the work, they were very polite and communicated what they were going to do very well. Even though they ran into an unexpected discovery, they informed me of the possible outcomes and ultimately were able to easily resolve the issue to move forward. Once they got to the go ahead to move forward, they completed the job very quickly. I am very pleased with all of the work done!

Brandon and Marc came texting me their anrrival, explained work to be done which I appreciated ,and got pictures of whatwas done. They were great?

Ben A was awesome once again. He came in the morning and got all his supplies and went to work. I came back later in the day and he was almost done with all the work inside and outside. Explained everything and got me all set up for my payments. I haven't had the best with past project and some contractors but Ben put me at ease the first time and even more so this time around. He was kind and very helpful understanding everything. I will recommend this company to anyone looking for projects to be done and I will keep this company for any future projects.. Thank you

They were all extremely respectful,very professional and knowledgeable and answered all my annoying questions with ease and I could tell immediately that they actually knew what they were doing and not just reading a script. Do NOT pay for services before completion, I was told they would return to seal gaps. After leaving messages to get this done, no return calls or contact at all. I recommend DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

I had my basement waterproofed with Innovative Basement Authority. Bryce J. was my inspector and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me some great advice about my home. Adam S. and Josh W. completed the project and did a phenomenal job. They were courteous, professional, highly skilled, and did a great clean up as well. I was so impressed with the results, I would definitely recommend their services.

Worst experience I have ever had with a business. I am deeply skeptical that most of these reviews are real. Our salesperson (Eric) suggested a bunch of unnecessary work (even though we specifically told him what we wanted) for our crawlspace. We settled on what we had originally requested under the assumption that Eric had actually seen the entirety of our crawl space (he, of course, did not). The guys who came out to work on the job were shocked that they had made a sale without even looking at the space properly, as his drawings were completely inaccurate of what the space looked like. Eric suggested that we create an exterior door (fine) and to save money (they wanted to charge us $500) we could dig the hole ourselves. The only problem is that the door, based on his own inaccurate drawings, was completely pointless (and could not have been done without risking serious damage to the joists). The service people were at least honest enough to cut our job in half (because they genuinely could not do most of it), but I am deeply skeptical that they did anything (I asked for pictures but none were ever provided). Eric was concilitory but as soon as we asked for compensation for essentially digging a worthless hole (and tearing out our bushes in the process), we never got a call back. I am not sure if the entire business is shady or just our salesperson, but I cannot recommend that you run from the business enough.

Very pleased with my experience with this company. Logan spent much time with me as he explained the situation with my property and the different avenues I could go down to address the problem with my sinking garage floor. I didn't feel as though he was just trying to make the most money out of me, as he gave me both less expensive and more expensive options. The work was performed on the promised date, and all went well.

This whole project could not have gone smoother for us. From Adam L. helping us understand the process and getting us scheduled to Isaiah S. and Matt N. doing the work on site, we couldn't have been more pleased. All three gentlemen were friendly, professional and answered all of my (many) questions. I highly recommend Innovative Basement Authority...I wish I could give 6 stars.

Marc and Brandon repaired our garage foundation. Raised the floor and repaired all around the garageâ s cement blocks. I couldnâ t believe the difference it made and in only 4 hours. Very nice and explained what they were going to do. Highly recommend them!
