"Very pleasant professional hard nonstop workers. They did a complete tear-off on my roof and replaced it with a new roof with gutters. Worked in the pouring rain nonstop and got the job done ASAP before the snow fell. Left No messes at all. Excellent job well done and would recommend this company to everyone."

"Overall, everyone I spoke to was very professional and polite. The person who set up our appointment called as soon as I requested a quote online. I wasn't crazy about being asked if I had a spouse- I know there was a time when that was an acceptable question, but that time was the 1970's. From that alone, I knew this was a company that typically worked with older and wealthier clients. We are not 1%ers and are relatively young home owners in a working class neighborhood, but we pay our bills on time, which I believe is the requirement for hiring a contractor. The representative that came for our estimate was overtly friendly, punctual, and professional. She explained all the things that could go wrong, what they could find in the walls, and how slow leaks could add $10k+ to a $30k-$40k base estimate-without changing the layout. She explained that the company was large and had multiple departments, specialist, and hands-on care that generated overhead which why their estimate was twice our highest estimate, three times our lowest estimate and that we could certainly find someone to do the work for closer to the $15k we're expecting, but they wouldn't be insured or secure permits; this, for the record, is not true. The website she directed us to for the area average and "cost vs value added" lists $20k as the average price, still $10k-$20k below her quote. She suggested we replace the tub and not do any other work because it wouldn't be a good investment. She asked us if we work from home and when we said no she asked if we work, presumably because we were home in the middle of the day. From beginning to end, it felt friendly-insulting. It felt like our base estimate was the "no way am I taking this job" highball estimate. Especially when compared to the amounts listed by other reviewers for this type of work from this company, which are in the $15k range. For the record, my marital status is not related to the work I want done and not everyone works Monday-Friday 9-5. We did manage to purchase a house, after all. I'm sorry my house and my neighborhood weren't good enough for this company- actually, no, I'm not. Overall, huge disappointment and a waste of everyone's time."

"When I decided to update my kitchen cabinets. I immediately thought of Vitaly of Restoration Guild. He had previously restored vintage furniture for me, and the results were outstanding. After calling for advice and estimates on the cabinets, Vitaly responded promptly and we discussed possible treatments for my 1950's era knotty pine cabinets. These cabinets had been covered wth many coats of various types of finish and had several areas where the wood was damaged. I wanted a drastic change which would lighten the kitchen. We discussed options and narrowed it down to either a light natural finish or a whitewashed finish. Vitaly actually took one of the cabinet doors to his workshop and sanded it to the bare wood. He put a natural finish on one side and the whitewash on the other. The results of both were amazing and I chose the whitewash. We discussed the process, repairing the damaged areas, and making doors for the island which had open shelves. His price was reasonable and in line with other estimates. I knew I would be comfortable with Vitaly and his workers being in my home. <br />The process began with sanding to the bare wood. Doors, drawers, and molding were taken to the workshop and the frames were sanded here with very little residue or mess. Watching Vitaly work on the multiple coats of whitewash and glaze showed me that he was a true artist. Every step was carefully done, and I was consulted during the many stages to make sure that I was happy with the resulting color and effects. Vitaly was very concerned that the new doors he built perfectly matched the original style of the cabinets. He was even able to find matching vintage hardware. I am totally happy with my cabinets. They are just what I envisioned. I have the highest regard for the work of Restoration Guild and would highly recommend them to anyone. The professionalism, talent, and attitude make Restoration Guild an outstanding business. Vitaly is totally concerned with achieving the results desired and pleasing the client. He is a very talented craftsman and artist. I definitely plan to use him for future projects. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"CK Team was super accommodating throughout every step of my project. They arrived when they said they would and workmanship was very very good. The owner was very flexible and honest. It hard finding reliable honest contractors however with my experience with CK Contruction I would hands down provide and recommend CK Construction to my friends and family. Furthermore on my next projects they will be the first ones I call. Truly a great company with awesome customer service."

"They spent a few weeks repairing and replacing cement pylons and stabilizing everything including ao original flagstone fireplace. By the time they finished we were more than ready to see them go. The owner (senior) was talkative and the project seemed to be dragging along. Right after they left we noticed that an antique plow and well pump (outside) were broken and an original farm bin from inside was missing. We were not happy. But, to be fair, we recently had another company [which we completely trust] out to look at other repairs and asked them to check the foundation and they were very impressed with what Whitney had done for the foundation. They reported that everything was solid and there was no evidence of shifting. The only thing they could improve upon would be to add steel angle brackets to the pylons for a little extra insurance."

"David was very thorough during estimate, asking questions and giving advice about many areas of concern after foundation was damaged by many years of water issues. He prioritized items that were most important. Workers were prompt and friendly, even careful with my two young children around the house, sharing ice cream with them during a lunch break. David took pictures took the chimney so I could see what was being done close up. Job looks good and site was cleaned up throughly, including a repair of an accidentally broken window without a complaint. We'd definitely use again. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Moravia, NY

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
