"We could not be happier with our deck! From the very start, everyone at Chesterfield Fence and Deck (CFD) was very helpful and professional. The crew was VERY clean, sweeping up the patio underneath the new deck every night before they left. The deck looks AMAZING - our neighbor even send us a text message about how beautiful the deck looks! Now, any company can be easy to deal with when there are no problems, but a true judge of a company's character is how they handle problems. We had an issue where the ribbon board (a decorative board that runs perpendicular to the main flooring) wasn't centered properly and was also the wrong color. After sending a supervisor out to look a the deck they, without hesitation, said they would make things right. In this case, making things right was removing the entire surface of the deck (unfortunately rendering it unusable) and redoing it all. We even asked if it was possible to reuse the half of the decking that was too long (by cutting it down to the correct length), but wouldn't do that since the replacement decking for the other half may not be a perfect color match; they would rather take the financial hit than put in a deck that didnt look perfect. To me, that speaks volumes about the company and it's leadership. It seems like it's harder and harder to find a good company that doesn't cur corners and stands behind their work, but in my experience, Chesterfield Fence and Deck is most certainly one of the good guys and I cannot recommend them enough!"

The few issues with minor aesthetics were discussed with the crew and solutions they suggested worked out well and look good. Dennis was very knowledgeable and approachable. "For this work we obtained three estimates. Larry Conyers, the owner of the company, and his son Matt Conyers, came over and discussed the project with us. We were very impressed how willing they were to listen to our ideas and develop a design around them. Also, the price that they quoted was very reasonable. We liked how flexible they were as we made minor modifications to the design. They tore out the old deck, build the new deck and pergola over our hot tub, and created a paved patio around the deck and hot tub. We were extremely happy with the workmanship. In fact, we were so pleased with the work that we asked them to do further landscaping, including creating a path with pavers/gravel, tearing out the old lawn, and putting down turf, and placing outdoor lighting. They did an exceptional job at a reasonable price. We both were extremely impressed with their esthetic sense, and were very pleased with the final results. For a short period, between the first and second part of the project, we did lose contact with them, and were not able to get hold of them by phone or e-mail. However, we found out that they were short staffed at the time, and once this was clear, there were no further problems. We would recommend Conyers Construction for any deck on landscaping work."
