I originally had them come over to do a general clean of my HVAC system and dryer vents, but it expanded to a mold clean and removal of some duct board inside the unit and they took care of it quickly and had my house under negative air pressure to prevent spores from getting out of control and landing on everything. My wife and I and our newborn really do appreciate the attention to detail and the fact they caught the mold that had inundated our system and they provided pictures and and easy to monitor system to see their work progress. "We have used The Mad Hatter once before and were impressed.  The first visit was around 5 years ago.  They cleaned all the air duct vents in our 50+ year old house.  They also checked our gas logs and Chimney.  We ordered special reusable filters from them as well as a new chimney cap.  VERY pleased with the purchases and their service!  Since we have four indoor cats and an old home, we wanted to have the ducts cleaned again.  Called and they were able to come the very next week - even offered an earlier appointment when they had a cancellation.  Prompt, courteous, and efficient.  We have been able to tell a difference in the air quality both times they have come.  Many people wonder about the cost since there are those who advertise for much less money.  Beware and read the reviews and find print on coupons, etc.  What they don't tell you is that they use different equipment (not as effective) and then offer you the BETTER cleaning for more money OR they start adding on costs for "extras" that should be included in the cost to begin with!  I can't explain the difference in the equipment but if you call Mad Hatter, I'm sure they will explain it to you.  We will use them again without reservation! <br />"

"The malfunctioning system had a refrigerant leak at a 90 degree connector on the outside unit which was super easy to diagnose and fix. Of course the whole system had to be evacuated and recovered at considerable expense thanks to the EPA. The system was recharged and everything worked perfectly. The inspection was done on both units and I thought all was well. Two days later the other system wouldn't even start up. When I called and explained that the unit had just passed their inspection, they sent someone right out. Turns out that a mouse had chewed on the connection to the starter capacitor. The tech said that he had removed the fried rodent on the inspection visit, but did not mention it to me. He didn't have an answer as to why he didn't catch the damage on the inspection visit. He fixed the connection at no charge. You may wonder why I would use them again. It is because I was fed up with my previous HVAC vendor and Standard seemed genuinely eager to please me and were prompt and on time. The techs they sent were barely over 20 years old, but seemed more knowledgeable than the older techs my former company sent. Until Standard breaches my confidence I will continue to use them."
